What belongs here

Huni Stories is for writing that has a shape: a beginning, something that changes, and an ending, even if the ending is "I still don't know." Members tag each story as true or fiction, so readers always know which kind they are reading.

True stories are often the ones people have never told out loud: a turning point at work, a friendship that ended quietly, a trip that went wrong in the best way. Fiction is welcome too, from a single scene to a serial told in parts.

Writing a story people finish

Start in the middle of the moment, not with background. "The phone rang at 2 a.m." pulls a reader in faster than three paragraphs of who everyone is. Add the context once they care.

Use one concrete detail per scene: the song that was playing, the smell of the hallway, what someone was holding. Details are what make a reader believe a true story and live inside a made-up one.

Read it once out loud before posting. Anywhere you stumble is a sentence that wants to be shorter.

Telling true stories about other people

You are anonymous here, but the people in your story are real. Change names and identifying details, and leave out anything that would let someone be recognised. Tell your side honestly without turning the story into a case against someone who cannot answer.

How this space is kept safe

Every post can be reported, and reports are read by the HuniWhisp moderation team. Posts that break the community rules are removed, and repeated or serious breaks lead to restrictions or bans.

Some writing is only visible to signed-in members: posts by members under 18, posts in Huni Haven, our support space, and posts our safety system marks as being about crisis, abuse or self-harm. Members can still read and reply to them, but they never appear in search engines or to visitors who are not signed in. People should be able to write about the hardest parts of their lives without it following them around the internet.
