Terms and Conditions
Last updated: June 17, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
HuniWhisp is operated by Nexude LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company (NJ Entity ID 0451490388) ("Nexude", "we", "our", "us"). By accessing or using Huni ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Platform. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of ageto create an account and use Huni. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Platform. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally permitted to use the service in your jurisdiction. Huni reserves the right to terminate accounts that are found to violate this age requirement.
App-store age ratings are set by the platforms, not by Huni. The iOS App Store rates the HuniWhisp app 18+ to reflect its mature, anonymous user-generated content, so installing the iOS app may be limited to accounts that meet that rating. The 13+ minimum above applies to the web service; under-18 members always receive additional protections and reduced access to mature surfaces.
To help us tune what you see and to protect younger members, we ask every member to select an age group when registering. You may also optionally provide an exact date of birth, which keeps your age accurate over time — your age group updates automatically when you turn 18. Members who joined before this was introduced may be asked, one time, to add an age group. Your age group and any date of birth are kept private, are never displayed to other users or used for advertising, and are used only to provide an age-appropriate experience and to apply safety protections. You agree to provide accurate age information. Where a member is, or indicates they are, under 18, additional protections apply and certain features may be limited or unavailable.
Minor messaging firewall (Huni Age Firewall™). To keep younger members safe, direct messaging is age-partitioned: members under 18 can exchange direct messages only with other members under 18. Adults cannot direct-message minors, and minors cannot direct-message adults — this is a hard age boundary enforced by the Platform, on top of the automated safety scanning (including grooming detection) and the block and report tools described in our Safety guidelines. Proprietary mechanic. The Huni Age Firewall™ — the bidirectional, server-enforced age partition for private messaging, driven by an optional private date of birth with automatic adult rollover on a member's 18th birthday — is proprietary to HuniWhisp (see Section 28); your use of it grants you no ownership or other right in the feature itself.
3. Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.
- Each person may only maintain one account
- You must provide accurate and complete registration information
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure
- You must not share your account credentials with any third party
- Users can reset their password via the forgot-password flow. Reset links expire after 1 hour and can only be used once
- Admin-issued temporary passwords. If you contact support locked out of your account, a super-admin may issue a temporary password sent to the email on file. When this happens, all your existing sessions are signed out, and you will be required to set a new password the next time you log in (you cannot use the platform until you do). The temporary password is valid only until your first successful login + change-password.
- Admin-invited (manually-created) accounts. A super-admin may also manually create a new HuniWhisp account from the administrative tools — typically to onboard a member who cannot complete self-registration (e.g. due to a bounced verification email or a regional sign-up issue). The invited member receives a temporary password by email. On the invited member's first successful login, HuniWhisp forces a password reset before any other part of the Platform can be used; the temporary password becomes unusable after that reset. Admin-invited accounts are subject to these Terms in the same way as self-registered accounts.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
4. User Content and Responsibility
You retain ownership of the content you post on Huni ("User Content"). By posting, you grant Huni a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the Platform.
Users are SOLELY responsible for their content. You are fully responsible for any content you post, including confessions, reviews, aspirations, comments, messages, and any other material. Huni does not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for any User Content. The views expressed in User Content are those of the individual authors and do not represent the views of Huni.
4a. Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content & Abusive Users
HuniWhisp has ZERO TOLERANCE for objectionable content and for abusive users. By creating an account and using Huni you agree to this Acceptable-Use policy, which forms part of these Terms (your end-user license agreement). You must not post, upload, share, or transmit any content that is objectionable, and you must not engage in abusive or harassing behavior toward any other user.
Objectionable content includes, without limitation:harassment, bullying, threats, or incitement of violence; hate speech or attacks on protected groups; sexual content involving minors or any child sexual abuse material; non-consensual intimate imagery; doxxing or sharing of others' private information; spam, scams, or fraud; promotion of self-harm; sale of illegal goods; and any content that is unlawful, abusive, or that violates the rights of others.
How we keep Huni safe. Huni gives every user the tools to control their experience and report abuse:
- Content filtering. A per-account content filter (Show All / Moderate / Strict) and an automated safety scanner help keep objectionable content out of your feed.
- Flagging / reporting. Any post, comment, message, or profile can be reported for review from its menu. Reports are routed to our moderation team.
- Blocking. You can block any user. Blocking removes that user's content from your feed immediately and notifies our moderation team so we can review the underlying content.
Our commitment. We act on reports of objectionable content and abusive behavior within 24 hours— removing the offending content and ejecting (suspending or permanently banning) the user who provided it. Accounts used to post objectionable content or to abuse other users may be terminated without notice. This policy is in addition to Section 8 (Moderation) and Section 12 (Termination).
5. Content Disclaimer
All content on Huni — including confessions, reviews, aspirations, and group posts — is entirely user-generated. Huni makes NO guarantees about the accuracy, truthfulness, completeness, or reliability of any content posted on the Platform.
It is entirely at the user's discretion whether to believe, trust, or act upon any content found on Huni. The credibility voting feature (Believable / Plausible / Made Up) is a community sentiment tool and does NOT constitute fact-checking, verification, or endorsement by Huni. Likewise, credibility votes, community-note helpfulness ratings, and the displays derived from them (including the consensus bar and pinned reader context) are aggregate community signals — expressions of reader opinion — and are not statements of fact, verification, or endorsement by HuniWhisp.
Huni expressly disclaims all liability for any reliance placed on content posted by users of the Platform. You acknowledge that you use and rely on any content at your own risk.
6. Review Disclaimer
Product and service reviews posted on Huni Reviews are opinions of individual users and do not represent the views or recommendations of Huni. Huni does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of any review.
Huni is NOT responsible for any purchase decisions, financial decisions, or any other decisions made based on reviews posted on the Platform. Users are encouraged to conduct their own research before making any decisions based on reviews found on Huni.
7. Pseudonymity Policy
Huni does not display real names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any other directly identifying information on posts or comments. The username you select at sign-up serves as your public pseudonym across the Platform. Your anonymity therefore depends on choosing a username that cannot be connected back to you — we strongly advise against using your real name, email handle, workplace nickname, or any username you already use on other platforms (such as Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, or TikTok). While we have taken extensive technical measures to protect identity (encrypted personal data at rest, no public profile fields beyond the chosen username, no cross-platform tracking, IP addresses kept internal), there is always a small residual risk of re-identification if you choose a recognisable username. You are responsible for the username you pick. You may change your username from the Account settings at any time.
We retain internal records (including IP, email, and account metadata) for safety, fraud prevention, and legal compliance purposes. Pseudonymity is not a shield for illegal activity. We may disclose user information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users. Posting under a pseudonym does not exempt you from these Terms and Conditions — all rules apply equally to every post.
Crisis break-glass. If a senior administrator reasonably suspects you are in an imminent life-safety crisis, they may lift your pseudonymity to the limited extent necessary to get help to you — accessing your identity and your approximate, IP-derived location (which can be imprecise) and sharing them with the trusted contact you configured and/or relevant emergency services. This is a protective measure taken in good faith for your safety, requires step-up authentication, and is permanently recorded to an internal oversight log. It does not create any duty to monitor, detect, or intervene, and we cannot guarantee that any contact or authority will respond.
7a. Permitted Disclosure to Verified Parties. Disclosure of otherwise-protected account information is also permitted to (i) verified executorsor administrators of a deceased member's estate, (ii) verified legal guardians or conservators of an incapacitated member, and (iii) authorities (courts, law-enforcement agencies, and other competent legal bodies) upon presentation of satisfactory documentation. The categories of request, the required documents, and the verification standards are defined in the Privacy Policy and on the intake form at /legal-requests. All such disclosures remain subject to the verification, perjury-declaration, and record-keeping requirements in Section 27c.
Criminal Activity Disclosure: Any content posted on HuniWhisp that describes, confesses to, threatens, plans, or provides evidence of criminal activity — whether past, ongoing, or intended — may be preserved, documented, and reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities without prior notice to the user. This includes but is not limited to: threats of violence or harm to self or others, child exploitation, terrorism, fraud, drug trafficking, stalking, harassment, and any other criminal offenses under applicable local, state, federal, or international law. By using this Platform, you acknowledge and agree that HuniWhisp may cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations, comply with lawful subpoenas, court orders, and legal processes, and provide any user data including account information, IP addresses, content, and activity logs as evidence when required or when we reasonably believe such disclosure is necessary to prevent harm or assist in a criminal investigation. Anonymity on this Platform does not provide immunity from legal consequences.
8. Groups, Invitations, and Moderation
Group owners are responsible for moderating content within their groups. Groups must not be used to organize harassment, illegal activities, or to circumvent Platform rules.
- Group owners may set entry requirements including screening questions and invite-only access
- Group owners may not use screening features to discriminate against protected classes
- Join requests and Q&A sections within groups are subject to the same content policies as the rest of the Platform
- We reserve the right to remove groups that violate these terms without prior notice
- Group moderators act independently and are not agents or representatives of Huni
9. Messaging, Friends, and Private Mode
Direct Messages. Direct messages (DMs) are encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Messages are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a server-held key. This is not end-to-end encryption: for safety, legal compliance, and moderation, authorized staff (administrators and super-administrators) can review DM content, and every such access is recorded in a tamper-evident audit log. All personal information including emails and display names is encrypted using AES-256-GCM. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. If you report a conversation, its contents are disclosed to our moderators for review; see our Privacy Policy for details.
Friends System. You may add other users as friends by their HuniWhisp username. Friend requests are explicit (the recipient must Accept) and friendships are symmetric. Either side may unfriend at any time. Friend lists are private to each side and are not surfaced as a public follower graph.
Private Mode. You can enable Private Mode from Profile » Preferences » Privacy. When enabled, only confirmed friends may start a new direct-message conversation with you or send a new message in an existing conversation. Existing conversation history remains readable on both sides; Private Mode is not retroactive deletion. Strangers can still read your public posts. Default is OFF.
On-device offline copies. If you enable the optional offline reading setting (off by default), a small number of recent public posts are stored temporarily on your own device so you can read them without a connection. These offline copies are encrypted on-device, automatically expire within 24 hours, and are deleted and refreshed whenever your device reconnects. Direct messages, private-group posts, and Momentary posts are never stored offline.
Acceptable Use. You must not use the messaging system to send unsolicited commercial messages, harass other users, distribute harmful content, or use friend requests as a vector for spam or social engineering. We reserve the right to investigate reports of messaging abuse and take appropriate action including account suspension. By using Huni, you consent to the collection and use of data as described in our Privacy Policy.
9b. Public Profile and Visibility Controls
Each registered user has a public profile at huniwhisp.com/u/{your-username}. The profile may display your chosen username (which is also the pseudonym on every post and comment), avatar, member-since date, friend count, and your posts, diaries, aspirations, and autographs. We do not surface your real name, email address, or IP address anywhere on the public profile or anywhere else readers can see.
Visibility Toggles. You control which sections appear on your public profile from Profile » Preferences » Public Profile. Six toggles are available, all default ON: posts, diaries, aspirations, autographs, friend count, member-since date.
Optional Self-Declared Region. You may optionally add a region to your profile — a country and, if you choose, a state/province and city — at signup or later from your Account page. Each region field carries its own visibility toggle: country defaults to visible on your public profile, while state and city default to private and appear only if you switch them on. These visibility rules are enforced server-side; other users are never shown a region field you have not made visible. Your self-declared region is separate from, and never mixed with, the coarse IP-derived location signal described in Section 41 — that signal is internal analytics only and is never displayed to other users. You can change or remove your self-declared region at any time.
Anonymity Carve-Out. Anonymous content is NEVER surfaced on a public profile, regardless of visibility-toggle state. Only items where you explicitly chose to attribute yourself (confessions with is_anonymous = false AND show_username = true; diaries with is_anonymous = false AND is_public = true) appear on the public profile. The visibility toggles only control whether to surface those already-attributed items, not whether to expose previously-anonymous ones.
10. Donations and Payments
Huni provides a donation system that lets users send tips and contributions of support to content authors. Donations on Huni are part of an internal, virtual economy (see Section 10a): they are recorded as transfers of in-app wallet balance, not as real-money payments, and the donor is not charged any external currency for sending one. By using the donation feature, you agree to the following:
- All donations are voluntary gestures of support between users, made at your own discretion. A donation is not a purchase, an investment, a loan, a security, or a charitable or tax-deductible contribution, and it does not entitle the donor to any goods, services, return, refund, or guaranteed outcome
- Huni charges a platform fee on each donation, which Huni retains (it accrues to the HuniWhisp treasury). The standard fee is currently up to 5% and is reduced for active premium members (currently Basic 3.5%, Plus 2.5%, and Pro 1%). The fee is set by Huni at its discretion and may change at any time; the rate that applies to your donation, and the resulting amounts, are shown to you at the point of donation before you confirm
- By default the recipient receives the gift minus the platform fee. The donor may instead choose to cover the fee, so the recipient keeps the full gift and the donor's total outlay is the gift plus the fee. Huni earns the fee either way
- Amounts credited to a recipient land in their in-app wallet balance, which is a virtual balance with no cash value and is governed by Section 10a
- Donations are recorded as completed internal transfers and are generally non-refundable once made, except in cases of verified fraud, abuse, or a technical error, which Huni may reverse at its discretion
- Huni reserves the right to withhold, reverse, adjust, or void donations or balances connected to fraud, abuse, chargebacks (where applicable), or a violation of these Terms
- Donations to bot, demo, or non-participating accounts are not accepted; accounts may also opt out of receiving donations entirely
- Authors who receive donations are solely responsible for determining and meeting any tax or reporting obligations that may apply to them
- Huni is not a party to, and is not responsible for, any dispute between a donor and a recipient
Donor privacy
- Anonymous donations. By default, a donor's username is shown alongside their donation. You may instead choose to donate anonymously, in which case your name is hidden and is not displayed to the recipient or to other users.
- Private amounts. You may choose to keep your donation amount private so that only the recipient ever sees it. Whether the recipient then chooses to share that amount with anyone else is a matter between the donor and the recipient.
- A donor's choice about whether their donation amount is displayed is never revealed to other users — others cannot tell whether an amount was hidden or shown.
10a. Virtual Economy, Wallet & Platform Treasury
Huni operates an internal, virtual economy. Your wallet balance, donations, tips, paid autographs, paid Live Huni access, identity-reveal payments, premium memberships, and any in-app gifts, coins, or Huni Coins that Huni may offer from time to time are all part of this virtual economy. Please read this section carefully before using any of these features.
No real money and no cash value
- Wallet balances and any in-app currency, gifts, or coins are a virtual, in-app feature for use on the Platform only. They are not real money, not legal tender, not a bank deposit, not e-money, not a stored-value instrument, and not a financial product or security
- They have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts except through the features Huni expressly provides, and are not redeemable for cash or any real-world currency, except via an official payout mechanism if and when Huni chooses to offer one, and then only on the terms, eligibility rules, verification, limits, and fees Huni sets for that mechanism
- Real-money top-ups and purchases are now enabled. The Platform now supports funding your wallet and paying for premium memberships and other paid features with real money through an external payment provider (currently PayPal and/or Stripe). When you make such a transaction, the relevant provider's terms and privacy policy apply to that transaction in addition to these Terms. Availability of a given provider, and whether a specific transaction is settled in a live or a test environment, may vary; the checkout flow tells you what applies before you confirm. Outbound payouts / withdrawals of wallet balance to a real-world account are addressed separately below and are not currently offered
- Virtual balances and items are licensed to you for use on the Platform, not sold; you do not acquire any ownership, property right, or proprietary interest in them, and they remain part of the Platform
Pricing is not final
- All prices, fees, tier rates, premium plan structures, feature-to-tier assignments, discounts, and promotional rates displayed anywhere on the Platform are indicative and are not final. They do not constitute an offer, a price guarantee, or a commitment of any kind, and may change at any time as described below
- Huni reserves the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change, restructure, add, or remove any price, fee, plan, tier, bundle, or paid feature; to introduce or withdraw promotions; and to change which features are free, premium, or paid — with or without notice, except where applicable law requires notice for already-active paid subscriptions
- The price that applies to a transaction is the one shown to you at the point of that transaction, at the moment you confirm it. Earlier displays, screenshots, cached pages, or marketing materials do not bind Huni
- Admin-tunable configuration and payment-method pricing. Premium and other paid-feature pricing is governed by a general configuration that Huni may adjust at its discretion (base prices, tier structure, regional / purchasing-power adjustments, and any discounts). In addition, the displayed price may vary by the payment method you choose (for example PayPal versus Stripe): each method's price is, by default, at parity with the base price, but Huni may apply a per-method adjustment to reflect that method's costs. The final price is always computed server-side and shown to you for the method and region that apply, before you confirm
Apple In-App Purchase (iOS app)
- When you use the Huni iOS app, Huni Coins and any other digital goods or consumable coin packs are purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase via the App Store. The payment is processed by Apple and is governed by Apple's terms (the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions), in addition to these Terms; Huni does not handle or receive your payment-card details for these purchases
- Huni Coins are a virtual, in-app currency licensed to you for use within the app only. Consistent with the rest of this Section 10a, they have no cash value, are non-transferable outside the features Huni provides, and are not redeemable for cash
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, under Apple's refund policy — not by Huni. Once a purchase is delivered and the coins are credited to your wallet, the purchase is non-refundable by HuniWhisp, except where applicable law requires otherwise. If you believe you are entitled to a refund of an App Store purchase, you should request it through Apple
- The in-app (iOS) price may differ from the price shown on the web. The in-app price includes the app store's commission and Apple's pricing tiers, so the same coins may cost more when purchased in the app than through the web top-up rail. The price that applies is always the one Apple shows you in the App Store purchase sheet before you confirm
Purchases are web-only for now
- At this time, all transactable products — premium memberships, Huni Coin top-ups, creator tips / donations, paid autograph collects, and self-serve advertising (Huni Ads) campaigns — are available on the web only. In the mobile apps these surfaces are disabled or hidden (shown as “coming soon”, removed, or replaced with a notice pointing to the web), with no purchase and no web-steering, so that no digital purchase is made inside the apps outside of the platform's official in-app purchase once it is live. Tips, donations, and ad campaigns therefore function on the web only until in-app purchase is enabled
- Huni Coins remain a spend-only in-app credit: they are not money, carry no cash value, and cannot be paid out, withdrawn, or redeemed for cash. The wallet does not offer a payout of Huni Coins
Saved payment cards (card-on-file)
- You may optionally save a payment card on the web for convenience. Huni stores only your card type (brand) and the last four digits, the expiry, and an optional cardholder name — never your full card number (PAN) or security code (CVV/CVC). The full number and security code are processed in your browser and are never transmitted to, stored by, or logged by Huni
- Saved card details are encrypted at rest and are used only within HuniWhisp to identify your chosen card. They are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising or any unrelated purpose. When real-money charging is enabled, the card is tokenized by a PCI-compliant payment processor and that processor — not Huni — holds the data needed to charge it
- You can remove a saved card at any time from your wallet; removal deletes the stored metadata for that card
Platform fee and the HuniWhisp treasury
- Huni charges a platform fee on donations and on other in-app transactions (see Sections 10, 25, 38). The fee is retained by Huni and accrues to an internal HuniWhisp treasury ledger
- Donation fees are currently up to 5% standard, reduced for active premium members (Basic 3.5%, Plus 2.5%, Pro 1%). Fee rates are set by Huni, may change at Huni's discretion, and the current rate is always shown at the point of the transaction
- The treasury is Huni's own property. Accrual of a fee to the treasury does not create any obligation, account, or entitlement in favour of any user
Not a bank, money transmitter, or payment processor
In operating this virtual economy, Huni is not acting as a bank, money services business, money transmitter, e-money issuer, escrow agent, payment processor, broker, or financial institution, and the wallet is not a deposit or payment account. Internal transfers of virtual balance between users (for example a donation) are a convenience feature of the Platform and are not a money-transmission service. You must not use the wallet, donations, or any in-app currency to launder money, evade sanctions, gamble, or move value on behalf of third parties, and you must not represent the virtual economy as a real-money, banking, or investment service.
Changes, suspension, and limitation of liability
- Huni may modify, suspend, discontinue, reprice, expire, recalculate, or reset any part of the virtual economy — including the wallet, fees, currencies, gifts, and any payout mechanism — at any time, in whole or in part, with or without notice
- Huni may suspend or freeze a balance, void virtual items, or claw back amounts connected to fraud, abuse, error, chargebacks, or a breach of these Terms
- Except where prohibited by applicable law, Huni is not liable for the loss of, or inability to use or redeem, any virtual balance, currency, gift, or item, including following account suspension or termination, discontinuation of a feature, or wind-down of the virtual economy. This is in addition to the general Limitation of Liability in Section 30
- On account termination or deletion, any remaining virtual balance is generally forfeited and non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise
10b. Email-Verification Gate
Verifying your email address on HuniWhisp is a light anti-abuse deterrent, not a security boundary and not a condition of general membership. Email verification is optional for the core experience: you can post confessions, react, comment, bookmark, and browse whether or not you have verified. We only require a verified email to perform a small set of abuse-prone actions, currently:
- Sending donations (Section 10)
- Initiating direct messages (Section 9)
- Creating groups (Section 8)
- Applying for an organization / business account
- Sending member-created shoutouts (Section 25a)
Not verifying your email does not lock you out of the platform — it only gates these specific features. The gate is a deterrent only: your email address is never shared with any third-party abuse-detection service and is used solely to check this verification status for the actions above. See the Privacy Policy for how this is handled.
11. Sponsorships and Promotions
Sponsored products and services may receive boosted visibility in review listings and other areas of the Platform. Sponsored content is clearly identified and tied to the advertising system. Sponsorships do not alter the content of user reviews. Users must not accept compensation from third parties to post fake or misleading reviews. Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy of their promotional materials. Violation of sponsorship guidelines may result in account termination.
11b. Huni Ads™ — Self-Serve Advertising
Huni Ads™ is HuniWhisp's self-serve advertising platform (at /advertise), where any eligible account can create and run advertising campaigns to promote content or a business. Campaigns let you choose an objective, set targeting (by region, age, gender, device, and content category), choose a bidding model (CPC, CPM, or CPA), and set daily and total budgets. By creating or running a campaign you agree to the following, in addition to the rest of these Terms:
- Wallet-funded, real billing. Huni Ads is funded from your Huni wallet. You top up your wallet (currently via PayPal and/or Stripe, subject to Section 10a), and a campaign reserves its budget from your wallet when you create it. As the campaign delivers, clicks, impressions, or actions debit the reserved budget. All charges are computed server-side and applied through the Platform's transactions system; you are charged only for delivery up to the budget you set
- Cheap by design. Pricing is intentionally low: a minimum campaign budget of around $1, a $0 ad-review fee, and low default CPC/CPM rates. Exact minimums, rates, and any fees are shown to you in the campaign builder before you confirm and may be adjusted by HuniWhisp as described in Section 10a (pricing is not final)
- Admin review of creative. Campaigns and their creative are reviewed by HuniWhisp administrators before going live. We may approve, decline, condition, pause, or remove any campaign or creative at our discretion. Advertising must comply with all of these Terms, including the prohibited-content and conduct rules; misleading, deceptive, infringing, or unlawful advertising is not permitted, and the advertiser is responsible for the accuracy and legality of its ads
- Under-18 protection. Advertising on HuniWhisp excludes members under 18 by default from both targeting and serving. You may not target, and the Platform will not knowingly serve your ads to, members under 18. Age-restricted, adult, or otherwise sensitive advertising is subject to additional restrictions or prohibition
- Budgets are spend authorisations, not guarantees. Setting a budget authorises spend up to that amount; it does not guarantee any particular reach, number of clicks, impressions, conversions, or results. Amounts spent on delivered advertising are generally non-refundable except as required by law or in cases of verified billing error or platform fault
- Proprietary mechanic. The Huni Ads™ self-serve platform, and in particular its cheap-minimum, wallet-funded, budget-reserving-and-debiting self-serve auction, is proprietary to HuniWhisp (see Sections 28 and 28c(x))
12. Following and Notifications
The follow system allows you to follow users, groups, and individual hunis. Following a user or group means you will receive notifications about their activity according to your notification preferences. You may unfollow at any time. Huni sends notifications for reactions, comments, new followers, group activity, direct messages, donations, and other relevant events. You can customize your notification preferences in your account settings. Abuse of the follow system (e.g., follow/unfollow spam) may result in restrictions.
12a. Communications & Re-engagement Notifications — your consent
By creating an account and using Huni — and especially by granting the push-notification permission on the mobile app or in your browser — you consent to receive notifications from Huni across the channels you have enabled: push notifications, email, and in-app messages. These communications fall into two groups:
- Service & transactional messages — account verification, password resets, login alerts from new IPs, payment and donation receipts, security notices, moderation and strike notices, terms and policy updates, and other messages necessary to operate your account. These are not marketing and, while your account is active, may be sent even if you have turned off other categories.
- Activity & re-engagement messages— reminders, "while you were away" activity summaries (e.g. unread reactions, replies, mentions, new followers, or messages waiting for you), prompts to return, and similar nudges intended to bring you back to content we think you'll care about. These are the messages you can opt out of, as described below.
Personalized timing & content. To make re-engagement messages useful rather than annoying, their timing and content may be personalized — for example, a push may be scheduled around the hour you are typically active, and a summary may reference the specific activity waiting for you. This personalization uses your own account and activity data; it is first-party only.
Opting out & controlling messages. You can opt out of activity and re-engagement messages per categoryfrom your notification settings (Profile » Preferences), and you can stop a whole channel at any time by (i) turning off push in your device's operating-system settings or in the browser, and (ii) using the unsubscribe link in our emails. We cap the frequency of re-engagement messages (for example, a return-reminder email is rate-limited and sent at most about once per day, and personalized pushes only fire after a period of inactivity), but we do not guarantee delivery, timing, or receipt of any notification — delivery depends on third parties (your device, OS, browser, email provider, and network) outside our control, and you should not rely on a notification as the sole means of receiving any time-sensitive information.
Not sold; no purchase of attention.Huni's notifications are first-party. We do not sell, rent, or share your contact details (email, device push token) with third parties for their own marketing, and re-engagement messages are not paid placements bought by advertisers. See our Privacy Policy for how this data is handled.
Minors. Members who are, or indicate they are, under 18 receive reduced and limited messaging. In particular, under-18 members are excluded from personalized active-hour and vulnerability-window push nudges and from re-engagement messaging designed to maximise time-on-app. This is consistent with the minors protections in Section 2 and our Privacy Policy. If you believe a minor is receiving messaging they should not, contact privacy@huniwhisp.com.
13. Content Filtering and Moderation
Huni employs content filtering systems including algospeak detection to identify attempts to circumvent filters. Users can adjust their personal filter levels to control the type of content they see.
Our moderation approach is allow-by-default and report-driven, in line with mainstream platforms. Most content is allowed to be posted and stays up; we act on it when it is reported by a user or a moderator and found to break our rules. The narrow exception is illegal or imminently dangerous content (for example child sexual material, human trafficking, terrorism, credible imminent threats of violence, the sale of controlled drugs, the sale of weapons, and the solicitation of commercial sex), which may be removed automatically and escalated to authorities without waiting for a report. See our Safety & Community Guidelinesfor what is and isn't allowed.
When we remove a post, we will normally tell you why via a notification, and you may reply to that notification to appeal. Users can report content they believe breaks our guidelines; reports are reviewed and appropriate action is taken. Repeated or serious violations may lead to limits on your account, suspension, or a permanent ban, as described in Sections 16 and 17.
Platform sweeps. In addition to report-driven review, Huni runs periodic platform-wide safety sweeps(both scheduled and moderator-initiated) that re-check existing content and identity fields — usernames, display names, and bios — against our rules, including an obfuscation-resistant, multilingual slur filter that recognises disguised spellings (symbol substitutions, look-alike characters, spacing tricks). When a sweep finds a violation, the standard protocol applies: the violating content is actioned, a strike may be recorded, and you are notified with the reason and may appeal. If your username or display name violates the rules, it may be replaced with a neutral, automatically-generated one; you can then choose a new compliant name.
Former usernames (“Also known as”).To prevent bad actors from escaping their reputation by renaming, a member's recent former usernames may be displayed publiclyon their profile as “Also known as”. Former usernames that themselves violated our rules (for example a slur) are not shown publicly— they are visible to our moderation team only. If a sweep or moderation action against you is later found to be a mistake, we revert it: content is restored, any strike is voided, and you receive an apology notice. See also our Privacy Policy on username-history retention.
14. Safety Monitoring and Intervention
Huni employs automated safety scanning systems that monitor platform content for patterns indicating potential harm, criminal activity, or distress situations. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Content including messages, comments, and confessions may be scanned by automated systems for safety purposes
- Only illegal or imminently dangerous content (child sexual material, human trafficking, terrorism, credible imminent threats of violence, the sale of controlled drugs, the sale of weapons, and the solicitation of commercial sex) may be automatically removed and escalated. Discussion, confession, or storytelling about these topics is not blocked — what is blocked is content whose primary purpose is to arrange the underlying illegal transaction. Other content is not auto-removed by the scanner — it is allowed to post and is actioned only on report
- Self-harm and mental-health content is never removed or punished for being a cry for help — venting and peer support are welcome (see Section 14c and our support space, Huni Haven)
- Reported and flagged content is reviewed by our safety team and may be escalated to appropriate authorities if required by law
- Any automatic removal of illegal content is subject to human review, and false positives are restored promptly with notice to the author
- Huni reserves the right to cooperate with law enforcement when there is a credible threat of harm
- The safety scanning system is designed to protect the community and does not replace human judgment
14(a). Safety scanning of direct messages
The same automated safety scanner that runs on posts and comments also runs on direct messages between members. The scan looks for the same fixed pattern set (drug sale, weapons sale, commercial-sex solicitation, human trafficking, credible threats of violence, signs of self-harm or distress, and predatory advances) and runs in the background, on a best-effort basis, after you press send. The scan is non-blocking and never prevents you from sending. To preserve the encrypted-at-rest copy of your message, the scanner reads the plaintext message before it is encrypted for storage; the plaintext is not retained beyond the scan, only the resulting verdict is. Because DMs are encrypted with a server-held key (not end-to-end), flagged content can be surfaced to moderators for safety review, with every such access recorded in the admin audit log.
14(b). Sensitive-information notifications
When the scanner flags a direct message under a sensitive-information category (personally-identifying information, doxxing or targeted doxxing, swatting risk, predatory advance, or blackmail / extortion patterns), HuniWhisp issues two informational notifications: one to the sender explaining the implications of sharing the content (including the risk of the message being screenshotted and forwarded) and indicating that the message has been flagged for review; and one to the receiver displayed above the message bubble warning the receiver to read carefully and to avoid sharing their own personal information in reply. The message itself is not deleted. These notifications are informational; reporting the message remains the responsibility of the recipient under Section 14b.
14(c). Safety-learning feedback loop
When a moderator confirms a flagged post or link as genuinely dangerous — or marks one as a false positive — HuniWhisp records the decision into a private safety-learning dataset used to improve scanner accuracy and language coverage over time. The dataset records the category, a short excerpt (truncated) of the content, the matched pattern, and the detected language of the excerpt across the languages HuniWhisp supports. The dataset does not record information used to re-identify the author beyond what is operationally necessary for moderator review. By using the Platform you consent to your flagged content being included in this internal review-derived dataset for the limited purpose of improving safety enforcement.
14(d). Automated screening of uploaded media (images, audio, video)
By uploading media to the Platform — images, voice notes, audio clips, or video — you acknowledge and consent that the media may be screened by automated safety systems, which may include processing of the media content by third-party AI services (for example, automated transcription of audio so the transcript can pass through the same safety scanner as written posts, or automated analysis of an image), as disclosed in the Privacy Policy. Media screening is asynchronous and non-blocking: it runs after your post is published and never delays or prevents publication. Screening outcomes follow the same graduated tiers as the rest of this Section 14: media indicating distress or self-harm is routed to support, never punished; flagged media may be de-amplified, labelled, restricted, or attached to a moderation queue; and automatic removal remains reserved for the illegal or imminently dangeroustier only, subject to human review with prompt restoration of false positives. Screening verdicts and audio transcripts are retained as moderation records. You may appeal any media-screening action through the same channels as any other moderation decision — by replying to the moderation notification or contacting support — and the right to human review of automated decisions applies in full.
Sensitivity screen (SensitiveGate™). Imagery depicting self-harm, fresh wounds, blood, or graphic violence is placed behind an all-ages sensitivity screen: the image is blurred for everyviewer regardless of age and only displays after a deliberate reveal, with crisis-support links presented on the screen. The post’s text is not hidden. The most-graphic self-harm tier (for example active cutting with visible blood) is removed from public feeds; in that case the author receives a supportive, non-punitive noticeexplaining why and pointing to support, the post is routed to our support space, and a moderator is paged for a wellness check — we treat it as a person who may need help, not as an offender. Moderators may also apply or lift the sensitivity screen, or perform this graphic-self-harm removal, manually. Proprietary mechanic.SensitiveGate™ — the all-ages deliberate-reveal media screen with on-gate crisis support, text-preserving partial screening, and supportive-removal-with-wellness-page handling of graphic self-harm — is proprietary to HuniWhisp (see Section 28); your use of it grants you no ownership or other right in the feature itself.
14b. User-to-User Safety: Sexual & Predatory Conduct
Huni is a confession and storytelling platform, not a dating, hook-up, or sexual-introduction service (see also Section 16a). Using the messaging system, comments, or any other surface to make unwanted sexual advances on other users is a serious violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension on first credible report.
Prohibited behavior between users
The following conduct is prohibited regardless of which user initiated the conversation, regardless of whether the recipient has previously replied, and regardless of the privacy mode of the channel (public comment, DM, group, Live Huni, autograph note, or reveal exchange):
- Unsolicited sexual messages, sexual emojis, sexual GIFs, or sexual images sent to a user who has not invited that content
- Sexually suggestive "console talk", role-play openers, or scenario prompts dressed up as friendly small-talk
- Grooming-style approaches between adults — building false intimacy quickly, isolating the recipient from other contacts, escalating to sexual content over time, or using flattery to lower the recipient's guard
- Pressure tactics such as "don't tell anyone", "keep this between us", "you'll get in trouble if you screenshot this", or guilt-tripping a user for not engaging
- Unsolicited offers to meet in person framed in sexual, intimate, or "just us" terms
- Money-for-favors solicitation — offering cash, gifts, donations, autograph payments, or wallet transfers in exchange for sexual content, dates, or any intimate interaction
- Requesting nude photos, partially-clothed photos, or sexual videos from another user, whether by direct ask, hint, or trade
- Sending the above to a user who has explicitly asked you to stop, blocked you, or used Private Mode against you
Special protections for vulnerable users
Users who post about emotional distress, mental health struggles, grief, loneliness, recent trauma, or who have indicated they are a minor receive heightened protection. Approaching such a user with sexual content, romantic propositions, or grooming-style messages is treated as an aggravated violation and may result in permanent ban without progression through the standard strike system in Section 16. Vulnerability is assessed from the surrounding context — a confession about a breakup, a diary about loss, a post tagged with mental-health categories, or a stated age — and the burden is on the approaching user to read the room.
In-app warnings on flagged content
HuniWhisp runs an automated detection system that flags messages and comments matching predatory patterns. When a flag fires, you will see a warning banner before you view or respond to the content. The warning is informational — it does not delete the message and does not pre-judge the sender. You retain full control: the banner offers Block, Report, and Dismiss. Dismissing the warning does not waive any of your rights under these Terms, and the underlying flag is still available to our safety team if you report the user later.
Your responsibilities as a recipient
- Report flagged content using the in-app report button on the message, comment, or profile, or by emailing support@huniwhisp.com
- Block the sender so they can no longer contact you. Blocking is one-tap from the warning banner, the profile, or the conversation header
- Do not engage. Replying, even to refuse, can be used by predatory senders to keep a thread alive — silence plus block plus report is the cleanest path
- For serious cases (threats, sextortion, attempts to obtain images of minors, off-platform stalking) save screenshots before you block, since blocking will remove your access to the conversation
- If you receive content that may involve a minor, or content suggesting imminent harm, report it immediately and, where appropriate, contact local law enforcement directly
Enforcement
- First credible report of unsolicited sexual content or predatory grooming → account suspension pending review, regardless of strike count
- Aggravated approaches on a vulnerable user (as defined above) → suspension on first report, with escalation toward permanent ban
- Anything involving a minor, sextortion, or non-consensual intimate imagery → permanent ban, content preservation, and referral to law enforcement and (where applicable) NCMEC's CyberTipline. This is consistent with the Criminal Activity Disclosure in Section 7 and the Child Safety Standards linked from /child-safety
- Anonymity does not shield a sender from any of the above — see Section 7
Encryption note — Guardian Scan™. Direct messages are encrypted as described in Section 9 — with AES-256-GCM using a server-held key (encrypted at rest), not end-to-end. The safety scan runs server-side on the message text. If, and only if, that scan detects a serious safety pattern, the flagged message is surfaced to moderators and a flag is recorded; every such access is written to the admin audit log. What you see as the sender depends on the pattern: serious predatory or illegal content produces no on-screen notice (to preserve evidence and avoid alerting an offender), self-harm or distress routes crisis-support resources to you, and personal-information or scam patterns show a gentle caution. Audio, video, and file attachments are not currently supported in direct messages; if introduced, they would be scanned server-side as well. Reporting a conversation still discloses its contents to our moderators, as described in Section 9.
14c. Mental Health Support System
HuniWhisp is a place where people share hard things, and some of those things are heavy. To support users in distress, the Platform runs an automated detector over new posts and comments looking for language that suggests suicide ideation, self-harm, or significant mental-health distress. This sub-section explains what the detector does, what it does not do, and the limits of the support it provides. It supplements the broader safety scanning described in Section 14 and works alongside the user-to-user protections in Section 14b.
What we do
- New posts and comments are scanned for suicide-ideation and mental-health-distress patterns at the moment they are submitted
- When a match is detected, you (the author) are shown a supportive popup that lists crisis hotline numbers and gently encourages reaching out to someone you trust before continuing
- Viewers of a flagged post may see a small "here's how to help" banner with the same hotline information
- We do not auto-delete, auto-edit, auto-blur, or block the post — you remain in full control of whether to publish, edit, or take it down
- You may dismiss the popup and continue posting; doing so is not held against you and is not recorded as a violation
Privacy
- The scan runs on the same content you are already publishing publicly to the Platform — it does not read your DMs, drafts, or anything you have not chosen to post
- We log scan outcomes (the matched category and a severity score) so we can tune the detector and reduce false positives. We do not log or retain the full text separately for this purpose; the post text itself is stored only because you chose to publish it
- We do not share your content, identity, account information, or scan outcomes with any hotline, crisis service, or other third party. The hotline numbers shown in the popup are static contact information that you may choose to use; reaching out to them is your decision, made directly
Not a professional service
HuniWhisp is not a clinical, medical, psychological, counselling, or therapeutic service. The mental health support system is informational onlyand is provided on an "as is" basis. The hotlines, text lines, and directories surfaced in the popup and banner are operated by independent third parties under their own terms and privacy policies; we do not control them, do not endorse any specific clinical outcome, and are not responsible for the availability, response time, or quality of service of any third-party crisis line.
Emergency referral
In cases of immediate risk to life — active self-harm in progress, a stated imminent specific plan to harm oneself or another person, or a credible threat made in real time — HuniWhisp may notify law-enforcement or other relevant authorities. This may occur (a) when the affected user explicitly requests intervention, or (b) where local law requires reporting to a relevant authority. Where it is safe and practical to do so, we will inform the user before or at the same time as such a notification. This sits alongside, and is consistent with, the Criminal Activity Disclosure in Section 7 and the broader cooperation with law enforcement described in Section 14.
Limits and accuracy
- Detection is statistical and imperfect. It can miss content that should have triggered a popup (false negatives) and it can fire on content that is not actually about suicide or distress (false positives — e.g. song lyrics, fictional storytelling, dark humour)
- The presence or absence of a popup or banner is not a clinical assessment of risk and must not be relied on as such
- Please do not rely on the detector as a safety net for someone in your life. If you are worried about a friend, family member, or another user on the Platform, reach out to them directly, in person where possible, and contact local emergency services or a crisis line if you believe their life is in danger
- Repeated or aggravated misuse of the support feature — for example posting deliberately distressing content to fish for support banners, or weaponising the feature to target another user — is treated under the standard strike system in Section 16 and, where the target is a vulnerable user, may engage the heightened protections in Section 14b
Huni Haven — a supportive home. Posts about self-harm or distress are never removed for being a cry for help. They stay in the normal feed and also appear in Huni Haven, an opt-in support space with crisis resources pinned and clear rules: you can vent and seek peer support freely, but encouraging anyone to harm themselves, or sharing methods, instructions, or graphic detail, is not allowed and will be removed.
If you are in immediate danger, please call your local emergency number (for example 911, 999, 112, or 000) or go to your nearest emergency room. The hotlines and resources surfaced in-app are listed on the Safetypage and the public Guides page under "Mental Health & Crisis Support".
Trusted-contact quiet alert
- You may optionally save one trusted contact — an email address you choose — together with an optional short message and a choice of whether to include your approximate location. The contact's email is stored encrypted at rest, the same way your own email is
- When you send a "quiet alert", HuniWhisp emails the person you chose a calm check-in request on your behalf. It is never sent to police, a crisis line, or any other third party, and there is no automated dispatch of any kind
- If you opt in, that email may include your approximate, IP-derived location (roughly city/region level, and possibly imprecise) so the person can reach you; nothing more precise is ever sent
- You are responsible for choosing a contact who has agreed to receive these messages, and for using the feature in good faith. To prevent misuse, alerts are rate-limited per account
- This is a convenience for reaching someone you trust — not a monitoring or emergency-response service. HuniWhisp does not and cannot contact emergency services on your behalf; if you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number
15. Author Moderation Rights
Authors of confessions have the right to moderate comments on their own posts. This includes:
- Blurring specific parts of comments
- Editing comments with a stated reason (original content is preserved)
- Deleting comments with an optional reason
- Appointing trusted moderators to assist with comment management
- All moderation actions are logged and auditable
- Moderators act independently and are not agents of Huni
- Appointed moderators may receive compensation from authors — such arrangements are between the parties
16. Content Relevance Policy & Strike System
All posts on Huni must be relevant to the category and tags they are posted under. Posting content that has nothing to do with the selected category or tags is a violation of these Terms. Huni enforces a progressive strike system to maintain content quality and community trust:
16a. Romance, Relationship & Dating-Adjacent Content
Huni is an anonymous confession and storytelling platform. The Romance category, the Relationships sub-category, and any romance, dating, hook-up, marriage, breakup, or attraction-related tags exist solely to organise first-person stories and confessions about those topics. Huni is not a dating site, matchmaking service, introduction service, escort service, or relationship-brokerage platform of any kind, and Huni does not facilitate the formation of romantic or sexual relationships between users.
Huni makes no representations or warranties about, and accepts no responsibility or liability for: (a) the truthfulness, accuracy, identity, age, relationship status, intentions, or character of any user posting under the Romance category or any romance-adjacent tag; (b) interactions, meetings, communications, or relationships (online or offline) that arise between users in connection with Romance-category content or DMs initiated as a result of such content; (c) any emotional, reputational, financial, or physical harm resulting from such interactions; or (d) the outcome of any actual or attempted relationship, partnership, or meeting.
Using Huni to solicit dates, hook-ups, sexual encounters, marriage proposals, mail-order spouses, sugar arrangements, escort services, or paid companionship — including via posts, comments, direct messages, or profile content — is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension regardless of strike count. The same applies to posts whose primary purpose is to identify, locate, recruit, or contact a specific real person (named or otherwise) for romantic or sexual purposes.
If you choose to share contact information, identifying details, or arrange an off-platform meeting with another user, you do so entirely at your own risk. Huni provides anonymity by design; we have no way to verify the identity, age, location, or stated relationship status of any user, and encrypted-DM contents are not accessible to Huni for safety review. Standard online-safety practices apply: do not share personal identifiers, financial information, or your home address with strangers; verify identity through video before any in-person meeting; and meet in public places.
The general Strike System below applies to Romance-category posts the same as any other category — but dating-solicitation, escort/companionship-solicitation, and use of Huni as a dating service are per-se violations that may bypass the strike escalation entirely. Users harmed by other users met through Huni must pursue any legal remedy directly against the other party, not against Huni or its operators.
- Strike 1 — Warning: You will receive a formal warning notification. The post may remain but will be flagged for review. No further action is taken on a first offense.
- Strike 2 — Post Removal: The offending post will be removed by an administrator. You will be notified of the removal and the reason.
- Strike 3 — Temporary Ban (30 days): Your account will be suspended for 30 days. You will not be able to post, comment, or interact with the Platform during this period.
- Strike 4+ — Permanent Ban & IP Restriction: Your account will be permanently banned from Huni. Your IP address will also be restricted to prevent the creation of new accounts to circumvent the ban.
Strikes are cumulative and do not expire. Administrators review all strikes and may adjust the severity based on context. You will be notified each time a strike is issued against your account. The strike system applies equally to anonymous and public posts — anonymity does not protect against content policy violations.
17. Ban System and Appeals
Huni enforces a 3-level ban system:
- Level 1: Restricted from commenting on specific posts or areas
- Level 2: Restricted from commenting and viewing certain content
- Level 3: Full platform suspension
All bans can be appealed through our appeal process. Appeals are reviewed by platform moderators or administrators. Temporary bans (timeouts) expire automatically.
Ban evasion is strictly prohibited. When an account receives a permanent ban, the associated IP address may also be banned to prevent the creation of new accounts. Attempting to circumvent a ban by creating alternate accounts, using proxies, or any other method will result in immediate permanent restriction of all associated accounts and IP addresses without appeal.
Circumventing these Terms — alternate, secondary, or “burner” accounts. You may not create or operate any additional, secondary, alternate, duplicate, or throwaway account in order to evade, defeat, or work around these Terms, a moderation decision, a strike, a content or rate limit, a block, or a ban. This expressly includes creating or using a separate account to post content you would not risk on your main account— for example, posting prohibited, abusive, or rule-breaking content from a “burner” or throwaway account so that a primary, preferred, or higher-reputation account is shielded from strikes, suspension, or removal (“account laundering”). It also includes using multiple or coordinated accounts (“sockpuppets”) to inflate or manipulate reactions, credibility votes, comments, reports, polls, referrals, giveaways, or any other signal; to harass someone or evade a block; or to present yourself as more than one person.
Where we reasonably determine that two or more accounts are operated or coordinated by the same person or group to circumvent these Terms, we may treat them as a single actor and take action against all of the linked accounts — including the account being “protected”— up to and including strikes, suspension, and permanent termination, and we may remove content posted through any of them. To detect and prevent this abuse we may associate accounts using signals such as device, browser, network/IP, and behavioral patterns, consistent with our Privacy Policy. Nothing in these Terms entitles you to a second, replacement, or “backup” account, or to continued access after enforcement, and returning under a new identity is itself a violation.
18. Huni Stories
Huni Stories allows users to share personal experiences, narratives, and real stories with the community. By using this feature:
- A Huni Story should be an actual story with enough substance — there is a minimum length. Very short posts will be posted as regular posts instead, so the Stories space stays a home for real narratives
- You retain ownership of your stories but grant Huni a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote them on the Platform
- Stories must comply with all content policies and prohibited content rules
- Tags and media attached to stories are subject to moderation
- Stories are published under your chosen username (your pseudonym) — pick a username that cannot be traced back to you
- Interactions (reactions, comments, shares) on stories follow the same rules as other content
19. Huni Bookworms
Huni Bookworms is a dedicated space for honest confessions about books — reviews, hot takes, guilty pleasures, and reading experiences. By using this feature:
- Bookworms is strictly for books — reviews of, or discussions about, a book or anything book-related. This expressly includes religious books such as the Quran or the Bible
- Posts must relate to books, reading, authors, or literary topics — posts that aren't about a book may be removed or reclassified as a regular post, and off-topic posts are subject to the strike system (Section 16)
- You retain ownership of your content but grant Huni a non-exclusive license to display and distribute it on the Platform
- All content policies, moderation rules, and prohibited content rules apply equally to Bookworms posts
- Spoiler tags should be used when discussing plot details that may spoil the reading experience for others
- Posts are published under your chosen username (your pseudonym)
- Tags should accurately reflect the book, genre, or topic being discussed
- Interactions (reactions, comments, shares) follow the same rules as other content types
Author Verification: Real authors of books may claim authorship on Bookworms posts by submitting proof of credentials (publisher links, social media profiles, ISBN references, or author websites). Verification claims are reviewed by administrators.
- Verified authors receive a visible "Verified Author" badge on their claimed posts
- Submitting a false author claim is a serious violation — if caught, the claim will be revoked and a "Not the actual author" label will be displayed on the specific post(s) where the false claim was made
- Users with similar usernames or display names to real authors who make false claims will also be flagged
- The "Not the actual author" flag is only applied to posts with revoked false claims, not all posts by the user
- False author claims may result in strikes under the content relevance policy (Section 16)
20. Identity Reveal System
Huni provides an Identity Reveal system that allows users to request the identity of anonymous post authors. The author who chooses to reveal their identity is referred to as the "Revealer". By using this feature, you agree to the following:
- Entirely voluntary: The Revealer is under no obligation to accept any reveal request. Accepting or declining is entirely at the Revealer's sole discretion.
- Social media verification: Identity reveals do not disclose usernames or email addresses. Instead, the Revealer provides links to their social media profiles for authentication purposes.
- NDA is optional: The Revealer may choose to require a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as part of the reveal process, but it is not mandatory. When an NDA is required, both parties must digitally sign before identity information is shared. The NDA is legally binding and enforceable.
- Monetary exchange: Either party may propose a monetary exchange for the reveal. The Revealer can set a price, and the Requester can offer a price. Payment is processed through the Huni wallet system. Huni does not guarantee refunds for completed reveals.
- Bulk reveals: The Revealer may choose to reveal their identity to multiple users at once through a bulk reveal. Each individual Requester in a bulk reveal must still independently agree to the terms (and sign the NDA if required).
- No platform responsibility: Huni provides the reveal and NDA system as a tool. Huni assumes NO responsibility for any consequences, disputes, damages, or outcomes arising from identity reveals. Both parties proceed entirely at their own risk.
- Abuse prevention: Using revealed identity information for harassment, stalking, doxxing, blackmail, or any malicious purpose is a violation of these Terms and will result in immediate permanent ban and potential legal action.
- Request limits: Reveal requests expire after 14 days if not responded to. Users may disable reveal requests in their account settings.
21. Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) for Identity Reveals
The NDA is an optional but recommended part of the Identity Reveal process. The Revealer decides whether to require an NDA. By signing an NDA on Huni:
- Your digital signature carries the same legal weight as a handwritten signature
- Your full legal name, IP address, and timestamp are recorded as part of the signing record
- The signed NDA may be used as evidence in legal proceedings by either party
- Breach of the NDA — including sharing, distributing, screenshotting, or publishing revealed information — may result in permanent platform ban and legal liability for damages
- The NDA is designed to protect the Revealer and provide legal recourse in case of breach
- Huni stores NDA records securely but does not act as a legal mediator between parties
- Both parties are encouraged to seek independent legal advice before signing if they have concerns
22. Huni Diaries
Huni Diaries allows users to create personal journals with date-based entries. By using this feature:
- Diaries are anonymous by default; you may set a display name separate from your username
- Entries can only be created for past or current dates, not future dates
- Cover images may be customized with layout, position, and zoom settings
- If you enable donations on your diary, you agree to Huni's platform fee structure for processing, and donor-privacy choices apply as described in Section 10
- Followers of your diary will receive notifications when you post new entries
- Deleting a diary soft-deletes it; data may be retained per our data retention policy
What a diary is — and staying a diary
A Huni Diary is an ongoing personal journal, not a one-off post. To keep the Diaries space meaningful, a diary should be a real, continued diary with at least 3 entries. A diary that has not reached 3 entries within 14 days is automatically reclassified as a regular post and labeled accordingly, so the Diaries space stays a home for genuine, continued journaling.
23. Temporary / Momentary Posts
Huni allows users to create temporary posts ("Momentary Hunis") that are automatically removed from public view after a user-selected duration. By using this feature:
- Unless a Momentary Huni is kept permanent before its timer expires (see below), it is permanently deleted after the chosen expiration period (10 minutes to 24 hours). That deletion is irreversible — there is no way to recover, restore, or retrieve an expired Momentary Huni
- Keeping a Momentary permanent. Before the timer expires, a Momentary Huni may be converted into a permanent post: readers can cast a "keep" vote, and the author (seeing that interest) — or a HuniWhisp administrator — may finalize it as a permanent post. Once kept, it stops counting down, becomes an ordinary permanent Huni, and is governed by all Terms that apply to permanent posts. If the timer elapses without it being kept, the deletion described above is final
- Data may be retained as required by law for safety and legal compliance purposes only — it is never visible to users again
- All associated data — including reactions, comments, shares, and bookmarks — is permanently deleted when a temporary post expires
- Users cannot extend, recover, or restore expired temporary posts once the timer has elapsed
- Abuse of temporary posts to evade moderation, circumvent the strike system, or post prohibited content is strictly forbidden and will result in strikes or bans as outlined in Section 16
- Content policies, prohibited content rules, and all other Terms apply equally to temporary and permanent posts
- Copy and print protection is applied to momentary posts. Attempting to circumvent these protections is a violation of these Terms
- Users may subscribe to momentary post notifications with customizable time frame preferences
23b. Huni Q&A & Comment Heat Tags
Huni Q&A is a third post type alongside regular and Momentary Hunis. A Q&A post is a question (selected from a pre-written prompt or written by the user) that the community answers in the comments. By using this feature:
- Pre-written prompts are curated by Huni and may be added, edited, or removed at any time without notice. They are intended as conversation starters, not legal or professional advice
- Q&A posts and the answers (comments) are subject to the same content policies, prohibited content rules, anonymity protections, and moderation system as any other post on the platform — see Sections 12–16
- Comments on any post (including Q&A posts) may receive emoji reactions from signed-in users, drawn from Huni's reaction palette — an evolving set of emotes (such as heart, laugh, clap, fire, relatable, cool, grateful, and more) that Huni may expand or adjust at any time. Counts are public; individual reactor identity follows the same anonymity rules as posting
- A comment or reply may optionally be anchored to a single media item (a photo, video, or audio clip) attached to the post. The anchor — shown as a small "about photo #2"-style chip on the comment — is public, is part of the comment, and is subject to the same content policies, anonymity protections, and moderation system as the comment text itself
- Comment "heat tags" (such as Hot Take, Comedy Gold, Relatable, Wholesome, Cool, Mind-Blowing, Agree to Disagree, and Top Reply) are computed automatically from the raw reaction mix — once a comment crosses a significant reaction threshold, its dominant reaction-group determines the primary tag, and where two or three reaction-groups are closely tied, up to three tags may be shown together. Huni does not store, persist, or curate the tag itself — it is a real-time visual indicator and may change as engagement shifts
- Heat tags carry no editorial endorsement. A "Hot Take" tag is a signal that the comment received polarising reactions, not that Huni agrees with it. Users should not infer platform endorsement from any heat tag
- Abuse of Q&A or the comment-reactions system to coordinate brigading, manipulate visibility, or evade moderation is strictly forbidden and will result in strikes or bans as outlined in Section 16
23c. Post Reaction Display & Post Heat Tags
The same heat mechanic described in Section 23b for comments also runs on posts. A post may publicly display its emoji-reaction counts and, once engagement crosses a significant threshold, one or more automatically-generated heat tagsdetermined by the post's dominant reaction-group — and, where two or three reaction-groups are closely tied, up to three tags shown together — drawn from an evolving set of labels such as Hot Take, Comedy Gold, Relatable, Wholesome, Cool, Mind-Blowing, Agree to Disagree, and Top Reply. By using the Platform you acknowledge and agree:
- Emoji-reaction counts on posts are public. Individual reactor identity follows the same anonymity rules as posting
- Post heat tags are computed automatically from raw reaction and comment counts (with higher thresholds than comments, since posts accrue more engagement). Huni does not store, persist, or curate the tag itself — it is a real-time visual indicator that may change as engagement shifts
- Post heat tags carry no editorial endorsement. A tag signals an engagement pattern, not that Huni agrees with, verifies, or recommends the content. Users should not infer platform endorsement from any heat tag
- Auto-shoutouts. When a post earns a strong heat tag and crosses a high engagement bar (currently a heat tag plus at least 15 total reactions on a post, or a comment thread where a reply earns a heat tag with at least 6 total reactions), the system may automatically generate a shoutout (see Section 25a) that surfaces the celebrated content publicly. These auto-shoutouts have no human sender, are time-limited (they expire automatically, currently after about 48 hours), are minted at most once per post, and carry no editorial endorsement
- Abuse of the post-reaction or heat system to coordinate brigading, inflate engagement, manufacture a heat tag or auto-shoutout, or otherwise manipulate visibility is strictly forbidden and will result in strikes or bans as outlined in Section 16
- Proprietary mechanic. Huni's reaction palette, the heat-tag system, the dominant-reaction-group-to-tag mapping, the close-tie multi-tag selection (showing up to three near-tied tags together), the named tags and their thresholds, and the associated badge/glow treatment are proprietary to HuniWhisp and protected as part of the Platform's intellectual property (see Section 9). You may not copy, reverse-engineer, reproduce, or create derivative works of this mechanic outside the Platform without prior written permission
24. Live Sessions
Live Huni sessions are real-time interactive events hosted by users. By participating:
- You agree to follow all Platform rules during live sessions
- Session hosts have the authority to moderate participants
- Live messages are subject to the same content policies as other Platform content
- Sessions may be password-protected or invite-only at the host's discretion
- Huni is not responsible for content shared during live sessions
25. Digital Autographs & Signatures
Huni provides a digital Huni Autographs™ system where any user can create unique, collectible signatures that others can collect, and any user can request an autograph from any other user. Each minted autograph is digitally unique, timestamped, and cryptographically locked. By using this feature:
- Autographs may include messages, greetings, images, and/or videos with customizable templates
- Each collected autograph receives a unique mint number and cryptographic signature hash, making it verifiable and one-of-a-kind
- Authors may give an autograph away free, accept an optional tip (the collector chooses the amount), or set a fixed price. Any tip or price is processed through the Huni wallet system. In the autograph context, “tip” means a voluntary, optional amount the collector chooses to add — it is not a purchase price and does not change what the collector receives
- Authors may limit the total supply of an autograph or leave it unlimited
- Once collected, an autograph belongs to the recipient and appears in their profile collection
- Autographs cannot be transferred between users — they are permanently tied to the collecting account
- Huni charges a platform fee on paid autograph transactions and on tips
- Digital autographs are collectible items with no guaranteed monetary value. Huni does not operate a secondary marketplace and makes no representations about the future value of any autograph
- Not an NFT or crypto-asset. Huni Autographs are ordinary records in Huni's own database. They are not NFTs, not blockchain tokens, not cryptocurrency or any other crypto-asset, and not a security, investment, or financial product. They confer no ownership stake, no dividend or revenue right, and no expectation of profit. The cryptographic signature hash described above is an internal integrity check that makes a collected autograph verifiable and tamper-evident — it does not place the item on any blockchain or public ledger, and the item cannot be resold or traded (see the non-transfer rule above)
- Creating autographs with misleading content, impersonation, or intellectual property violations will result in removal and potential strikes
- Proprietary mechanic. The Huni Autographs™ system — including the canvas-captured scalable signature format, the animated pen / paper-template rendering, and the per-autograph authenticity-certificate code — is proprietary to HuniWhisp and protected as part of the Platform's intellectual property (see Section 28). You may not copy, reverse-engineer, reproduce, or create derivative works of this mechanic outside the Platform without prior written permission
25a. Shoutouts
A shoutout is a short, public message of positive recognition a member can send. There are two kinds: generalshoutouts (to a post, another member, or the whole community) surface in the "Shoutouts" rail on the home page, and groupshoutouts surface on that group's own page. By using this feature:
- Member-created shoutouts are limited to registered, email-verified accounts. Email verification here is a light anti-abuse deterrent (see Section 10b), not a security boundary
- Allotments. Each member has a limited allotment of shoutouts they may give, tracked separately for the general and group pools (the group allotment is shared across all groups, not granted per group). Non-premium members receive a one-time allotment per pool that does not renew; premium members receive a larger allotment that renews each billing period, scaled by tier. All amounts are set by Huni, are subject to change at its discretion, and unused allotment does not roll over
- Paid benefit — consumable, non-refundable. Any shoutout allotment included with a paid subscription is a consumable benefit of that subscription. It has no independent cash value, is non-refundable, does not accrue or transfer, and is forfeited on downgrade, cancellation, non-renewal, suspension, or termination, and at the end of each billing period for that period's unused amount. This is consistent with the virtual-economy and non-refund terms in Sections 10 and 10a
- Timed / expiring. Every shoutout displays for a limited window (currently about 24 hours) and then expires, so each rail self-cleans. Huni may also deactivate a shoutout for moderation reasons or honour a sender's retraction
- No guarantee of reach or visibility. Shoutouts are surfaced on a best-effort, rotating basis and may be shown to different viewers at different times. Huni does not guarantee that any shoutout will be delivered to, seen by, or remain visible to any particular number of members, or seen at all. Any displayed "seen" figure is an approximate, aggregate signal of viewership, not a guarantee, metric of record, or promise of reach
- View tracking. To power the rotating rail and the aggregate seen count, the Platform records which signed-in members have viewed a shoutout. This is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy
- Content rules apply. Shoutout messages are public content and must comply with all of these Terms and the Safety & Community Guidelines. Shoutouts must be positive recognition; using them to harass, defame, spam, impersonate, amplify abuse, or evade moderation is prohibited and may result in strikes or bans under Section 16. Huni may remove or withhold any shoutout, and may suspend a member's allotment for abuse, without refund
- Sender identity follows the same anonymity and privacy rules as the rest of the Platform — a private member's username is not revealed in the public rail
- Auto-shoutouts. Some shoutouts are system-generated rather than member-created: when a post earns a strong heat tag and crosses a high engagement threshold (see Section 23c), the Platform may automatically mint a shoutout celebrating that content. Auto-shoutouts have no human sender, bypass the verification and allotment rules above (there is no sender to gate), are equally time-limited, and carry no editorial endorsement by Huni — they surface engagement, not a recommendation
- Proprietary feature. The Shoutouts feature, including its rails, rotation and recognition mechanics, and allotment system, is part of Huni's proprietary Platform and intellectual property (Section 28). Your use of it grants you no ownership or other rights in the feature itself
- Proprietary mechanic — Huni Empathy™. The Huni Empathy system — the mood-aware peer-support panel and its six-mood framing (support / celebrate / validate / reassure / listen / general), the category-bucketed support-template system, and the cheer/hug recognition mechanic — is proprietary to HuniWhisp and protected as part of the Platform's intellectual property (see Section 28). You may not copy, reverse-engineer, reproduce, or create derivative works of this mechanic outside the Platform without prior written permission
25b. Daily Motivation Quote
Your dashboard may show a daily reflection — a short motivational quote that rotates once per day. By using this feature:
- Quotes are drawn from public-domain and licensed quote collections and are attributed to their stated authors. HuniWhisp does not claim ownership of the quotes themselves, which remain the intellectual property of their respective authors or rights-holders
- Quotes are provided "as is", for general encouragement and reflection only, without any warranty as to accuracy, attribution, completeness, or appropriateness. They are not professional, medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and should not be relied upon as such
- The daily reflection is on by default and can be disabled at any time from your dashboard; when off, no quote is shown
- If you believe a quote is misattributed or shouldn't appear, you can let us know and we'll review it
26. Multi-Language Support
Huni provides translations in multiple languages for user convenience. Translations are provided on a best-effort basis and may not be perfectly accurate. In case of discrepancy between the English version and any translated version of these Terms, the English version prevails. Users are responsible for ensuring they understand the terms regardless of language selection.
27. Prohibited Content
You agree NOT to post content that:
- Is illegal, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory
- Constitutes hate speech targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Contains personal information of others without their consent (doxxing)
- Promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activities
- Offers to sell controlled drugs, offers to sell weapons, or solicits commercial sex (including escort services, paid companionship, and adjacent arrangements). Discussion, confession, or storytelling about these topics in a personal context is not prohibited; brokering the underlying transaction on the Platform is
- Contains sexually explicit material involving minors
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Is spam, phishing, or commercial solicitation
- Solicits money, donations, handouts, tips, or gifts from other members — for example posting a payment handle (Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, a $cashtag, etc.), a fundraiser link, or messages like “send me money,” “gift me,” or “anyone willing to donate.” Venting about hardship (e.g. “I'm broke and struggling”) is always allowed; directly asking members for money is not. The Platform's built-in Support feature (Section 10) is the only sanctioned way to receive support from others
- Impersonates another person or entity
- Attempts to manipulate the Platform's ranking, scoring, or credibility voting systems
- Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Encourages or facilitates any of the above
27b. Respectful Discussion of Religion
This applies across all categorieson Huni, not just Bookworms — it's about the content, not where it's posted. Respectful discussion, review, and sharing of religious works — including the Quran and the Bible — is welcome anywhere on the Platform.
Insulting, demoralizing, disrespecting, mocking, or hateful content toward any religion, religious text, or believers is prohibited. Such posts or comments will be removed when reported and reviewed, and the responsible user receives strikes under the strike system in Section 16. Repeated or severe violations can lead to suspension or a permanent ban.
27c. Violence, Bullying, Harassment & Persecution
This applies across all categoriesand all surfaces of Huni — posts, comments, direct messages, groups, and live sessions. The following are prohibited:
- Threats of violence against any person or group, whether direct, veiled, or conditional
- Glorifying, celebrating, or encouraging violence, or inciting or instructing others to commit it
- Bullying and harassment — targeting, demeaning, intimidating, or relentlessly attacking a specific person
- Persecution — pursuing, hounding, or seeking to harm or silence someone for who they are or what they believe
Such content is removed when reported and reviewed, and the responsible user receives strikes under the strike system in Section 16, up to suspension or a permanent ban for repeated or severe violations. Credible imminent threats of violence may additionally be removed automatically and escalated to authorities as described in Sections 7 and 14. Anyone who is the target of bullying, harassment, or persecution can report the content and the responsible account, block the user, and seek peer support through our support space. Anonymity does not shield a user from these rules — see Section 7.
27d. Doxxing, Threat-to-Dox & Swatting
This applies across all categoriesand all surfaces of Huni — posts, comments, direct messages, groups, live sessions, and identity reveals. In addition to the general prohibition on posting another person's private information (Section 27), the following are specifically prohibited:
- Doxxing.Posting, compiling, or sharing private identifying information about any person without their consent — including real name behind a pseudonym, home or work address, phone number, place of employment or study, license plate, or precise location.
- Threat-to-dox / dox extortion.Threatening to leak, publish, or "drop" someone's private information, identity, or intimate images unless they do, pay, or stop doing something. This overlaps with the blackmail and sextortion prohibitions and is treated with the same severity.
- Dox-as-a-service.Offering, soliciting, advertising, or trading the location or de-anonymisation of any person — e.g. "DM me for their address", selling personal information, or offering doxxing for hire or for payment.
- Targeted doxxing / brigading.Pairing a person's private information with a call to action to find, visit, confront, harass, or show up at that person in real life.
- Swatting and false emergency reports.Threatening to summon, or actually summoning, police, SWAT, or emergency services to a person's location — including making or threatening a false report of a bomb, shooting, hostage, or active-shooter situation at someone's address. Swatting is a documented precursor to real-world death or injury and is treated as a severe violation.
Our automated scanner specifically detects doxxing, targeted-doxxing, and swatting-threat patterns; when these fire, the content is archived with context and a human is paged. Separately, when content is reported as doxxing, a swatting threat, non-consensual intimate imagery, or a threat of violence, it is fast-tracked as a priority-zero (P0) report: the reported post is immediately and reversibly hidden from public viewpending human review, and all moderators are notified at once. A P0 hide is not a deletion — content reported in error is restored.
Doxxing, threat-to-dox, dox-as-a-service, targeted doxxing, and swatting are per-se violationsthat may result in immediate suspension or a permanent ban regardless of strike count. Credible threats and false emergency reports may additionally be preserved and referred to law enforcement as described in Sections 7 and 14, and using information obtained through the Identity Reveal system for any of these purposes is an aggravated violation under Section 20. Anonymity does not shield a user from these rules — see Section 7.

Nominative fair use (e.g. truthfully referring to “HuniWhisp” in a news article or review) is permitted, provided you do not suggest endorsement.
Platform IP.The Platform's source code, compiled binaries, database schemas, APIs, machine-learning models, anti-abuse systems, ranking and moderation algorithms, design files, copy, illustrations, and overall “look and feel” (trade dress) are proprietary works owned by Nexude LLC and protected by copyright, trade-secret, and database-right laws worldwide. You receive no license to any of the foregoing except the limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to access and use the Platform as an end user under these Terms.
User Content License (cross-reference). Content you upload remains your intellectual property, subject to the license you grant HuniWhisp under Section 4 to host, display, distribute, and moderate that content on the Platform.
Brand Evolution Does Not Waive Rights. HuniWhisp may update, refresh, or replace any logo, color scheme, icon, or visual identity at any time as the Platform evolves. Continued use after a brand refresh constitutes acceptance of the new identity. A brand refresh is not abandonment of the prior mark — both prior and current visual identities continue to enjoy common-law protection so long as the underlying brand name remains in continuous use.
Reporting Misuse. If you become aware of unauthorized commercial use of the marks above (impostor accounts, knockoff apps, counterfeit merchandise, squatted domains, etc.), please report it to the contact email in Section 51.
28b. Acceptable Technical Use & Anti-Abuse
In addition to the conduct rules elsewhere in these Terms, you agree NOT to do any of the following with respect to the Platform, its data, or its infrastructure without HuniWhisp's prior written authorization:
- Scraping, crawling, or harvesting any portion of the Platform or its content (whether public or behind authentication) by automated means, except by good-faith search-engine crawlers obeying our robots.txt.
- Bulk download or mirroringof users' posts, comments, profile data, or any other Platform content.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or attempting to derive the source code of the Platform, its mobile apps, its APIs, or any cryptographic or anti-abuse component.
- Bypassing or circumventing rate limits, paywalls, age gates, content filters, security mechanisms, captchas, or geographic restrictions, or attempting to access portions of the Platform you have not been granted access to.
- Automated account creation, including using disposable email services, residential-IP rotation services, anti-fingerprinting browsers, or stolen identity documents to register accounts at scale.
- Using Platform content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or benchmark machine-learning, large-language, or generative-AI models(whether commercial, academic, or personal), or for any other dataset-construction purpose, without an explicit written data-licensing agreement signed by an authorized HuniWhisp officer. The Platform's textual and visual content is not a public training corpus.
- Penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, denial-of-service testing, or any security probing against the Platform without prior written authorization. We welcome good-faith vulnerability reports — see Section 47 for the contact and our safe-harbor terms in the Bug-Bounty Disclosure (if published).
- Re-publishing, syndicating, or commercially exploitingany user-generated content from the Platform without the author's explicit consent and a license from HuniWhisp.
- Embedding the Platform in a frame, overlay, or wrapper appdesigned to misappropriate engagement, inject ads, or strip HuniWhisp branding.
We reserve the right to investigate, throttle, ban, and pursue civil and criminal remedies — including under the U.S. Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), the EU Database Directive, and equivalent foreign laws — against persons or organisations who violate this section. Detected violations may also result in immediate account termination without refund.
28c. Proprietary HuniWhisp Mechanisms
The following user-visible mechanisms have been originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp and are claimed as proprietary product designs of HuniWhisp. The absence of a registered patent, design right, or trademark in any jurisdiction does not waive any rights — the rights claimed here include common-law trademark rights in the named feature labels, copyright in the user-facing implementation, trade-dress rights in the combined look-and-feel, and trade-secret rights in the underlying implementation details. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of any of the mechanisms below in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property, unfair-competition, and passing-off law. We reserve all rights in these designs.
(a) Four-option Reveal Mode
The four-option Reveal Modesystem — Anonymous, Show username, Scheduled reveal, and Threshold reveal — together with its auto-reveal eligibility stamping, is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of the four-option Reveal Mode design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(b) Sound-warning YouTube embed gate & 0→20 volume ramp
The sound-warning YouTube embed gate, which embeds a video on a poster image with sound off, requires an explicit “play with sound” tap before any audio plays, and applies a 0→20 volume ramp after consent, is a proprietary HuniWhisp flow, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this consent-gated embed flow in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(c) Page-level YouTube gate decision-sharing
The page-level YouTube gate decision-sharingmechanism — which allows a single user choice on a sound-warning gate to apply consistently to every YouTube embed on the same page within a session — is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this shared-decision design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(d) Repeat-flagged content gate (content-hash dedup)
The repeat-flagged content gate, which uses a content-hash deduplication record (content_hash) to block resubmission of previously-flagged content from the same account and to explain to the author which categories tripped the scanner and when, is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this content-hash-keyed resubmission-block design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(e) Dangerous-link spam shadow throttle (3+ in 24h)
The dangerous-link spam shadow throttle, which quietly soft-pauses an account that posts three or more dangerous-verdict links within a 24-hour rolling window while preserving the rest of the community's feed quality, is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this shadow-throttle design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(f) Comment-link safety verdict & autolinkify pipeline
The comment-link safety verdictsystem — which scans each first URL in a new comment at write time, stores a safe / suspicious / dangerous verdict alongside the comment, and renders the URL inline as a tappable chip with the verdict badge attached via its autolinkify pipeline — is a proprietary HuniWhisp design, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this verdict-attached autolinkify design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(g) Screenshot protection (native secure-screen block + web visibility-change overlay)
HuniWhisp's Screenshot Protectionsystem — combining the native operating-system secure-surface / hide-from-recents screenshot block with a web-side visibility-change / capture-shortcut overlay (the “Screenshot Protected” overlay) and a per-account toggle — is a proprietary HuniWhisp system, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this cross-platform screenshot-protection design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(h) Four-lane edit + 24h owner window + admin bypass + per-field edit_history audit
The four-lane post-edit system— spanning confessions, aspirations, diaries, and stories — with a 24-hour owner edit window, an admin bypass for moderation-driven corrections, and a per-field edit_history audit log written as part of every edit, is a proprietary HuniWhisp design, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this combined edit-window-plus-audit design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(i) Group occupation gate
The Group occupation gate, which restricts group membership to members whose profile occupation matches a group-defined occupation requirement and enforces the check server-side at join time (not merely in the UI), is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this occupation-keyed group-gate design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(j) Admin manual user-add + first-login forced reset
The admin manual user-add flow, which lets a super-admin manually create a HuniWhisp account with a single-use temporary password and then forces the new member through a password reset on first login before any other Platform surface is usable, is a proprietary HuniWhisp flow, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this admin-invite + first-login-forced-reset design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(k) Safety-learning approved-flag feedback loop (multi-language)
The safety-learning approved-flag feedback loop, which captures admin-confirmed dangerous flags and admin-marked false positives, tags each with the detected language across the languages HuniWhisp supports, and feeds them into a continuously-improving safety-scanner training surface, is a proprietary HuniWhisp system, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this admin-confirmation-fed multi-language safety-learning design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(l) Organization submission inbox & moderation queue pattern
The organization submission inbox and moderation queue pattern— under which members of a verified organization's space submit anonymous content through a templated submitter-facing form, the submission is pre-screened by HuniWhisp's safety scanner at submit time so illegal-or-imminent-harm content never reaches the inbox, and surviving submissions sit in a pending queue visible only to the organization's admins until an organization admin approves or rejects them, with approve writing an attributed-or-anonymous post into the space and reject recording a reviewer note, all logged to the platform's admin audit trail — is a proprietary HuniWhisp design, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this organization-submission-inbox-plus-moderation-queue design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(m) Per-organization templated post types & auto-numbered confessions
The per-organization templated post type system— covering the platform-default template set (numbered confession, crush, birthday greeting, lost & found, event announcement, study-buddy request, recommendation, and general), each template carrying a defined field schema and a render-to-body function, combined with an auto-incrementing per-organization numbered-confession counterthat assigns a stable ordinal to each published numbered confession within that organization's space — is a proprietary HuniWhisp design, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this templated-post-types-plus-per-org-numbering design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(n) Moderation assistant suggestion engine
The moderation assistant suggestion engine— which runs the safety scanner over each pending organization submission, derives a colour-coded verdict (green, amber, red, or escalate), maps the verdict to a one-click recommended action (Approve, Approve with edit, Reject with a pre-filled rejection reason drawn from the scanner verdict, or Escalate to HuniWhisp staff), surfaces the suggestion alongside the pending submission in the organization admin's queue, and routes the admin's confirmed decision back into the safety-learning surface in clause (k) to improve scanner accuracy — is a proprietary HuniWhisp system, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this verdict-fed one-click moderation-suggestion design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. (o) Authority Evidence Vault — multi-method unlock + Shamir-combination encryption
The Authority Evidence Vault— comprising the reporter-driven authority-report wizard (authority-category selection, free-text recipient and jurisdiction, multi-format evidence upload covering image, audio, video, PDF, and text statements, and a narrative timeline editor), the client-side AES-256-GCM encryption of every evidence file and the narrative statement at finalize time, the multi-method unlock registration system (QR-code printout, WebAuthn biometric via the PRF extension, and Argon2id/PBKDF2-wrapped passphrase, registered in any subset), the Shamir Secret Sharing N-of-K combination that lets a reporter require two or more unlock methods together (for example QR and biometric, or 2-of-3 across QR + biometric + passphrase) to reconstruct the master key, the server-blindarchitecture under which HuniWhisp never holds, sees, or can recover the master key after finalize, the downloadable .huniwhisp-report bundle envelope format (JSON wrap envelope plus encrypted evidence blobs), the recipient unlock pageat which an authority recipient presents the registered unlock token(s) and the bundle is reconstructed and decrypted entirely in the recipient's browser, and the opt-in platform-emergency-recovery admin-archive layerdescribed in Section 28e clauses (j)–(m) (the reporter-controlled consent toggle at finalize, the additional Shamir share wrapped to an offline super-admin keypair, the multi-gate admin access pattern requiring archive-passphrase re-entry plus WebAuthn step-up plus reason-for-access logging plus a 5-open-per-24h rate cap plus two-key co-sign for force-open, and the in-browser-only decryption path that keeps the master key off our servers even when an admin is the one unwrapping) — is a proprietary HuniWhisp system, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this multi-method-unlock + Shamir-combination + server-blind + opt-in-admin-archive evidence-vault design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(p) Media-anchored comments (per-item comment targeting + tap-to-focus chip)
The media-anchored commentsystem — under which a commenter selects a single media item (photo, video, or audio clip) attached to a post from a picker in the comment composer, the comment or reply is stored with a reference to that specific item, and the comment row renders a tap-to-focus chip (for example “about photo #2”) that opens the referenced item in the post's media viewer — is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this per-item comment-targeting design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(q) Anonymous Admin Voice (opt-in anonymous-but-official badge)
The Anonymous Admin Voicesystem — under which a HuniWhisp administrator may explicitly opt in, per post or per comment, to publish anonymously while the content carries a server-verified HuniWhisp Adminbadge; the server stores and transmits only a single boolean official-voice flag and never the administrator's identity; the flag is accepted only from accounts verified server-side as administrators and is silently cleared otherwise; and an administrator's ordinary anonymous posts remain unbadged unless the toggle is used — is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this opt-in anonymous-official-voice design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(r) Encrypted temporary offline reading cache
The encrypted temporary offline reading cache— under which a member may opt in, via an off-by-default account setting, to store a small member-chosen number of recent public posts on their own device for offline reading; each cached copy is encrypted at rest on-device (AES-GCM via WebCrypto), subject to a hard 24-hour expiry that applies even while the device remains offline, and fully purged and freshly re-cached whenever the device reconnects; caching is restricted to public posts only, categorically excluding self-destructing Momentary posts, private-group posts, and direct messages; and cached content is presented in a clearly marked read-only “Saved for offline” section — is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this encrypted-temporary-offline-cache design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(s) What's New changelog + suggestion box (and license to member suggestions)
The What's New changelog and suggestion box— comprising the in-product weekly update surface that groups newly shipped features by week, links each entry to its matching help guide or FAQ anchor, surfaces a per-device “NEW” indicator that clears once the latest update batch has been viewed, and embeds an integrated “what would you like next?” suggestion box with a per-member daily submission allowance whose submissions are tracked on an internal product-triage board through lifecycle statuses (new, reviewing, planned, shipped, or declined) — is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this changelog-plus-suggestion-box design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property law. We reserve all rights in this design. In addition, any idea, suggestion, feature request, or feedback you submit through the suggestion box, the feedback widget, or any similar channel is provided on a non-confidential, non-proprietary basis: HuniWhisp may freely use, implement, modify, adapt, and commercialize such submissions, in whole or in part, without compensation, attribution, or any other obligation to you, and submitting a suggestion creates no confidential, fiduciary, or other special relationship between you and HuniWhisp.
(t) Integrated post-trust surface (consensus bar + source check + poster proof marking + share heads-up)
The integrated post-trust surface— the combined, post-keyed system under which (i) a community consensus bar renders the per-post split of community credibility votes (Believable / Plausible / Made Up) as a compact three-segment bar on post cards, gated behind a minimum-vote anti-brigading floor before any bar is displayed; (ii) Source check chips rate the publication behind an outbound link against a hand-curated reliability tier list (reliable, mixed, low, satire, user-generated), with uncurated domains deliberately rendering no chip; (iii) a poster proof-marking mechanism lets the author of a post designate individual attached media items as offered proof, rendering a per-item “proof” chip expressly attributed to the poster rather than to the Platform; and (iv) a pre-share heads-up interstitialinterposes a single non-blocking informational pause before off-platform sharing of a post that is either automation-flagged as unverified or community-voted predominantly Made Up above defined vote and percentage thresholds — operating together with the credibility meter, community notes with reader-rated pinned context, and unverified-post de-amplification as a single inform-not-censor trust surface in which every signal is post-keyed (never aggregated to an author across posts), every signal is labelled by its origin (community, curated, automated, or poster), and no signal removes, edits, or blocks content or sharing — is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this integrated trust-surface design, in whole or in substantial part, in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property, unfair-competition, and passing-off law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(u) Fail-open tiered media screening (transcript-first audio path + support routing)
The fail-open tiered media-screening pipeline— the combined mechanism under which (i) uploaded media (images, voice notes, audio, video) is screened strictly after publication on a non-blocking, fail-open basis, such that no scan outcome, failure, or delay ever postpones or prevents a post from publishing; (ii) audio and video are moderated transcript-first, with the transcription run through the very same text safety scanner that governs written posts rather than a parallel media-only rule set; and (iii) automated media verdicts map onto the Platform's graduated disposition vocabulary — support-resource routing to Huni Haven instead of punishment for distress content, de-amplification and labelling for unverified-alert categories, and automatic removal reserved exclusively for the illegal/imminent tier — is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this fail-open, transcript-first, support-routing media-screening design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property, unfair-competition, and passing-off law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(v) Huni Habits™ — named-habit daily check-in + private streak + anonymous solidarity lane
Huni Habits™— the combined wellbeing mechanism under which (i) a member names a personal habit and records it with a one-tap daily check-in that is keyed to a UTC-stable daily resetso every member's day rolls over on the same shared clock; (ii) progress renders as a private streak count and heat-strip visible only to the member who owns it; (iii) members working on a habit of the same closed kind are grouped into an anonymous solidarity lane that exposes only aggregate solidarity counters (how many are working on it / checked in), never any individual's identity or text; (iv) members may send a one-way, no-reply “rooting for you” cheer tap into that lane, which cannot become a conversation or a direct message; and (v) a broken streak triggers a compassion-on-breakresponse — a gentle fresh-start framing rather than a loss-aversion guilt nudge — is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this named-habit, UTC-stable, anonymous-solidarity, compassion-on-break design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property, unfair-competition, and passing-off law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(w) Huni Games Room™ — daily skill/social games + novel per-game resolution mechanics
The Huni Games Room™ — the daily play suite at /games and its individual games Six-Word Whisps (a true micro-story in exactly six words), Two Truths, One Lie, Riddle at Dusk, and The Caption Circle— together with the specific resolution and engagement mechanics that distinguish them, is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. The novel mechanics claimed here include, without limitation: (i) the Two Truths, One Lie credibility-meter-as-lie-resolver, under which the community truth-votes which of three statements is the lie and the authorconfirms the outcome after a fixed delay (a community-credibility meter repurposed as the game's resolution engine); (ii) the Caption Circle “this is so real” meter, a community-resonance meter applied to one-line captions secretly written about the captioner's own life on a shared daily image; (iii) Riddle at Dusk's blurred-until-you-guess nightly riddle with a persistent solve-streak; and (iv) Six-Word Whisps' exactly-six-words true-micro-story constraint as a daily play form. Each game grants badges, achievements, and small, daily-capped, idempotent coin rewards for wins and streaks as described in Section 36b; this is a skill/social mechanic and is not chance-based wagering or gambling. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of these per-game mechanics, in whole or in substantial part, in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property, unfair-competition, and passing-off law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(x) Huni Ads™ — cheap, wallet-funded self-serve ad auction
The Huni Ads™ self-serve advertising platform at /advertise— in particular its wallet-funded, budget-reserving, deliberately low-cost self-serve auction, under which an advertiser tops up their own Huni wallet, a campaign reserves its budget from that wallet on creation, and per-click / per-impression / per-action delivery debitsthe reserved budget server-side under the Platform's transactions gate, all at intentionally low minimums (a roughly $1 minimum budget, a $0 ad-review fee, and low CPC/CPM defaults), with creative held for admin review and under-18 audiences excluded from both targeting and serving — is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. The protected novelty is this integrated cheap-minimum, wallet-reserve-and-debit self-serve auction as one shipped path; conventional CPC/CPM/CPA bidding models in the abstract are not separately claimed. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this integrated design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property, unfair-competition, and passing-off law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(y) Huni Accountable Oversight™ — audited broad oversight bounded by named no-go walls
The Huni Accountable Oversight™model — under which HuniWhisp staff (administrators and super-administrators) may access member content across the Platform, including private and organization groups, private diaries and their entries, and direct messages (which are encrypted at rest with a server-held key, not end-to-end), for safety, legal compliance, moderation, and lawful emergency response, where (i) every such access writes a tamper-evident row to the admin audit log recording the acting staff member, the time, the target opened, and the originating IP, so oversight is accountable and never silent; and (ii) a fixed, named set of zones remains off-limits by design — the Authority Evidence Vaultafter finalize (server-blind; reachable only through the reporter's opt-in, five-gate, notified recovery path in Section 28e), private Huni Mirrors, and organization anonymous salary and survey data— is a proprietary HuniWhisp mechanism, originally designed and implemented by HuniWhisp. The protected novelty is this integrated pairing of deliberately broad, fully audited staff oversight with a fixed, enumerated set of cryptographic and policy no-go walls as one shipped governance design; access controls or audit logging in the abstract are not separately claimed. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this integrated design in a competing product is prohibited and may be challenged under applicable intellectual-property, unfair-competition, and passing-off law. We reserve all rights in this design.
(z) Huni Visibility-Aware Share™ — sharing that carries the post's privacy state with it
Huni Visibility-Aware Share™is the mechanism by which every outbound share surface — copy-link, QR code, native share sheet, social-network intent, embeddable iframe, and the server-rendered link-preview (Open Graph / Twitter) card — is gated by a single shareability checkthat propagates the underlying item's privacy and anonymity state: a post that is deleted, moderated, shadow-hidden, flagged, unverified, or posted into a group / private space can never mint a public preview card or QR, and an anonymous item never carries identity off-platform. The protected novelty is this integrated propagation of a post's anonymity and visibility state across the entire external-share toolkit as one gate; generic external sharing, OG cards, or QR codes in the abstract are not separately claimed (those are described in Section 43). Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this integrated design in a competing product is prohibited. We reserve all rights in this design.
(aa) Huni Profile Share™ — a shareable identity that stays anonymous
Huni Profile Share™ is HuniWhisp's shareable anonymous-handle profile (at /u/anon/<handle>): a stable pseudonymous handle that can be shared by link or profile QR code and that unfurls into an anonymity-safe preview card rendering only the public handle, aggregate post/comment counts, and a deliberately lossy member-since month — never a username, email, avatar, real name, IP, exact join date, or any post content that could re-link the handle to a real identity. The protected novelty is this publicly-shareable-yet-anonymous profile identity with a privacy-preserving share card and QR. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this design in a competing product is prohibited. We reserve all rights in this design.
(ab) Huni Checklists™ — the interactive, embeddable checklist content type
Huni Checklists™ is the interactive checklist content type: a post (or a goal milestone, diary entry, or aspiration block) composed of tick-off items with a live, derived progress meter, where the author checks items off one tap at a time and the item text is mirrored into the post body so it stays searchable and safety-scanned. The protected novelty is this reusable, polymorphic-host checklist mechanic with owner-only check-off and derived progress shipped as a first-class content type; it is distinct from the Aspirations progress timeline and from anniversary milestone check-ins. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this design in a competing product is prohibited. We reserve all rights in this design.
(ac) Huni Offline Outbox™ — an encrypted on-device action queue that replays on reconnect
Huni Offline Outbox™is HuniWhisp's mechanism for capturing an idempotent set-state action (currently a post reaction) taken while the device is offline or whose request fails on a dead network, encrypting it at rest with AES-256-GCM under a non-extractable device keyin the device's own storage, and automatically replayingit to the server the moment connectivity returns — after which the queued copy is deleted. Replay is bounded (capped retries; permanently-failing items are dropped, never re-applied) and deliberately restricted to set-state actions, so a duplicate replay converges to the same state rather than creating a second copy. The protected novelty is this encrypted, idempotent-only on-device action outbox with bounded reconnect-replay; it is distinct from the encrypted temporary offline reading cache in clause (r), which stores content for offline reading rather than queuing actions for later writing. Unauthorized reproduction or substantial imitation of this design in a competing product is prohibited. We reserve all rights in this design.
Standing reservation. The list above is a non-exhaustivesnapshot of HuniWhisp's proprietary mechanisms as of the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Additional mechanisms are introduced from time to time and are claimed on the same basis from the moment they are shipped. The omission of any mechanism from this list does not constitute a waiver of any rights HuniWhisp may hold in that mechanism.
28d. Organization Accounts
In addition to individual accounts, the Platform supports an organization account class for verified schools, clubs, companies, nonprofits, and similar groups. An organization account represents the institution itself rather than any single member, and is subject to the following standing terms in addition to all other provisions of these Terms.
(a) Application and verification
Any account holder may apply to convert an individual account into an organization account by submitting the requested information (organization type, institution name, country, and a short description). Verification is granted only after review by HuniWhisp staff. HuniWhisp may approve, decline, condition, or revoke verification at its sole discretion. A verification badge is a representation by HuniWhisp that, at the time of review, the applicant credibly appeared to represent the institution named — not a guarantee of any present or future fact, status, or authority of the organization or any individual associated with it. Applicants must not impersonate an institution they do not legitimately represent or hold authority for; doing so is a material breach of these Terms and a ground for immediate revocation.
(b) Posts made by the organization are attributed
Posts authored by an organization account — meaning content the organization writes and publishes itself, as distinct from member submissions routed through the inbox — are attributed to the organization by defaultand may not be posted anonymously. This is to preserve the public's ability to distinguish official organizational communication from anonymous member contribution. The organization is responsible for the content of every post it authors as the publisher.
(c) The organization-admin moderation duty
An organization that enables the anonymous-submission inbox on its space accepts a moderation dutyfor the submissions it receives. The organization's designated admins are responsible for reviewing pending submissions in a reasonable time, applying the moderation assistant's suggestion as they see fit, and approving, rejecting, or escalating each submission with reasonable judgment. The organization is the publisherof any submission it approves into its space, and is responsible for that published content as if it had authored it — the submitter's anonymity does not transfer authorship liability away from the organization once the organization elects to publish. HuniWhisp's ordinary content policies continue to apply on top of the organization's own moderation; nothing in this clause limits HuniWhisp's right to take post-publication action on content that violates these Terms.
(d) Platform-default safety auto-block applies before queueing
HuniWhisp's platform-default safety scanner runs on every member submission beforethe submission is placed in the organization's pending queue. Submissions that the scanner classes as illegal-or-imminent-harm content — including, without limitation, child sexual content or grooming, human trafficking, terrorism planning, credible threats of violence, the sale of drugs or weapons, and the solicitation of commercial sex — are auto-blocked at submit timeand never appear in the inbox. The organization and its admins receive no copy of auto-blocked content. This pre-publication safety auto-block is a platform-level protection and does not constitute monitoring of the organization's editorial judgment over the content that does reach the queue.
(e) The moderation assistant is a suggestion, not a decision
The moderation assistant's colour-coded verdict and one-click recommended action are suggestions only. The organization's admin makes the final call on every submission. HuniWhisp makes no representation that the moderation assistant will catch every harmful submission or correctly classify every benign one, and the organization remains responsible for the decisions it makes regardless of which suggestion the assistant surfaced.
(f) Audit trail and learning loop
Every approve, reject, and escalate decision an organization admin makes on a pending submission is recorded in the platform's admin audit log. Confirmed decisions also feed the safety-learning surface described in Section 28c clause (k) to improve scanner accuracy across the Platform. The audit log does not deanonymise the submitter to the organization beyond what the organization already saw at the moment of decision.
(g) Revocation and standing
HuniWhisp may revoke organization-account verification, disable the submission inbox, suspend the organization's space, or remove the organization account where the organization repeatedly publishes content that violates these Terms, fails to meet its moderation duty under clause (c), misrepresents its standing or authority to represent the named institution, or otherwise abuses the organization-account privileges. Sections 16, 17, and 32 (suspension, strikes, and termination) apply to organization accounts as they apply to individual accounts.
28e. Authority Evidence Vault
The Platform offers an Authority Evidence Vault— a reporter-initiated workflow under which any account holder may compile evidence (images, audio, video, PDF, and written statements) and a narrative timeline into an encrypted bundle addressed to a relevant authority of the reporter's choice (for example a police department, a cybercrime unit, NCMEC, a domestic violence agency, a school-safety office, a mental-health crisis service, or another body the reporter names). The Vault is provided subject to the following standing terms in addition to all other provisions of these Terms.
(a) Reporter responsibility for the report's contents
The reporter is solely responsible for the truthfulness, accuracy, completeness, and lawful provenance of every piece of evidence and every statement included in a report. HuniWhisp does not verify, vouch for, endorse, or adjudicate any claim made in a report. Filing a knowingly false report, fabricating evidence, submitting evidence the reporter has no right to share (for example intimate imagery of another person obtained without consent, copyrighted material without permission, or material subject to a non-disclosure obligation), or using the Vault to harass, defame, or set up another person is a material breach of these Terms and may also be a criminal offence in the reporter's jurisdiction.
(b) No platform endorsement, no guarantee of authority response
The selection of an authority recipient (category, agency name, and jurisdiction) is made by the reporter. HuniWhisp does not transmit the report to the authority on the reporter's behalf and does not represent that any authority will receive, read, accept, investigate, or act on a report compiled in the Vault. The decision whether and how to deliver a finalized report to the named authority — whether by download and in-person hand-over, secure upload to the authority's own intake portal, courier, mail, or otherwise — rests entirely with the reporter. The reporter acknowledges that authorities operate under their own intake rules, evidence standards, jurisdictional limits, and discretion, and that HuniWhisp has no control over any authority's response or non-response.
(c) Server-blind decryption after finalize
At finalize time, the Platform encrypts every evidence file and the narrative statement client-side using a randomly-generated AES-256-GCM master key, wraps that master key with each unlock method the reporter has registered (and, where the reporter has selected an N-of-K combination, splits it via Shamir Secret Sharing), and discards the plaintext master key from server memory. After finalize, HuniWhisp does not hold, see, or have the technical means to recover the master key. This is a deliberate design choice and not a service guarantee — if every unlock method the reporter registered is later lost (a destroyed QR printout, a forgotten passphrase, a wiped biometric authenticator, and so on, in any combination that exceeds the reporter's configured threshold), the encrypted bundle cannot be recovered by HuniWhisp or by anyone else, and the contents of the report are permanently inaccessible. The reporter is solely responsible for keeping at least one valid unlock token (or a Shamir-threshold-reaching combination of tokens) safe and transferable to the intended recipient.
(d) Retention, expiration, and downloadability
A finalized report is retained on the Platform for a default of 365 daysfrom creation, after which it is marked expired and the encrypted blob may be permanently deleted from Platform storage. The reporter may download a copy of the encrypted .huniwhisp-report bundle at any time after finalize and is encouraged to do so — the downloaded copy is the reporter's durable record and is not affected by Platform expiration, account closure, or service termination. Once a report is finalized, its evidence and statement cannot be edited, removed, or added to; the reporter may, however, mark a report as handed over, which stamps the hand-over date and locks the report to read-only access. The reporter may also voluntarily delete an unfinalized draft at any time.
(e) Audit log scope and what it does not contain
The Platform writes an audit-log entry for each significant action taken against a report — for example creation, evidence addition or removal, unlock-method registration, finalize, bundle download, unlock attempt, hand-over, and expiration. The audit log records the action, the timestamp, a salted one-way hash of the actor's IP address where applicable, and a minimal set of operational details. The audit log does not recordthe plaintext of any evidence, the plaintext of the narrative statement, the master key, any passphrase, or any biometric material, and is not a backdoor to the encrypted contents of the report. The audit log exists so the reporter can verify the report's integrity history and so the Platform can investigate abuse of the Vault.
(f) Acceptable use of the Vault
The Vault is intended to help a reporter compile, encrypt, and deliver evidence to a relevant authority. It must not be used to: (i) prepare or distribute child sexual abuse material, including for the stated purpose of “reporting” that material outside an authorised channel; (ii) dox, surveil, blackmail, extort, or threaten any person; (iii) compile or distribute non-consensual intimate imagery; (iv) hold or distribute material the reporter is not legally entitled to possess or share; (v) coordinate or further any criminal activity; or (vi) circumvent a lawful gag order, protective order, or non-disclosure obligation. HuniWhisp may, where it becomes aware of such use, disable a draft, refuse to serve a bundle, terminate the reporter's account, and cooperate with lawful authorities — in line with Section 7 (pseudonymity and de-anonymization) and Section 28b (acceptable technical use).
(g) Suspected child sexual abuse material
If a reporter believes they are in possession of suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM), the reporter must notupload that material to the Vault. Reporters in the United States should report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (CyberTipline.org, 1-800-843-5678); reporters elsewhere should contact their local INHOPE hotline or law enforcement. HuniWhisp's platform-level safety scanner runs at evidence-upload time and the Platform will refuse and report material it identifies as suspected CSAM in line with applicable law — this does not transfer the reporter's independent legal obligations.
(h) No legal, investigative, or evidentiary advice
The Vault is a compilation and encryption tool, not legal, investigative, forensic, or evidentiary advice. The Platform does not represent that a report compiled in the Vault will satisfy the chain-of- custody, admissibility, disclosure, or other procedural requirements of any court, prosecutor, defence, tribunal, regulator, or investigative body. Reporters who anticipate that their report may be used in legal proceedings are strongly advised to seek qualified legal counsel in their jurisdiction before finalize and before hand-over.
(i) Liability allocation
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HuniWhisp is not liable for: (i) the contents of any report or evidence file uploaded by a reporter; (ii) the truthfulness or completeness of any claim made in a report; (iii) any decision an authority does or does not make in response to a report; (iv) any consequence of an unlock token being lost, destroyed, intercepted, or copied outside the Platform; (v) any consequence of a recipient being unable to unlock a bundle; or (vi) any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of the use of the Vault. Section 30 (Limitation of Liability) applies to the Vault in addition to the specific allocations in this clause.
(j) Platform emergency recovery is opt-in at finalize and irreversible
At finalize time the reporter is offered a single opt-in togglelabelled “Allow HuniWhisp admins to recover this report’s contents in an emergency.” The toggle is off by default. If the reporter leaves it off, the Vault remains fully server-blind for that report as described in clause (c) above, and HuniWhisp has no technical means at allto read the report's contents — only metadata (status, recipient category, finalize date, evidence count and sizes, and the audit log) is ever visible to platform staff. If the reporter turns the toggle on, the reporter's browser also generates an additional Shamir share of the master key and encrypts that share to a HuniWhisp super-admin emergency keypair whose private key is held offline (not on any HuniWhisp server or in any HuniWhisp database). The wrapped emergency share is stored alongside the report and is the only path by which platform staff can ever reconstruct the master key for that report. The opt-in choice is recorded at finalize and cannot be reversedonce the report is finalized — if the reporter changes their mind later, the only way to revoke admin access is to delete the report. The reporter accepts that turning the toggle on is a deliberate, informed trade-off between absolute server-blindness and a recovery path for emergencies (for example suspected CSAM, an imminent threat to life, or a lawful court order directed at HuniWhisp).
(k) Admin archive access — multi-gate controls
Every finalized authority report is archived in the admin dashboard for HuniWhisp super-admins as a read-only record. Admin access to the archive is gated by a layered set of controls: (i) the underlying account must hold a super-admin role and have completed the standard admin 2FA elevation; (ii) the admin must re-enter a separate admin-archive passphraseonce per session, distinct from their login password and stored only as a PBKDF2-SHA256 hash; (iii) the admin must complete a WebAuthn biometric step-up immediately before any read action; (iv) the admin must enter a free-text reason for access that is recorded verbatim in the access log; and (v) each admin is rate-limited to a maximum of five contents-opens per twenty-four hours, after which any further read must follow the force-open path in clause (l). Admins can never delete an archived report — deletion remains controlled by the reporter and the retention window in clause (d). For reports without the clause (j) opt-in, the admin surface displays only metadata and the audit log and provides no path to the encrypted contents.
(l) Force-open requires two-key co-sign
Where the five-per-twenty-four-hour rate cap has been reached or where the circumstances warrant an additional check (for example a sensitive report or an active investigation), an admin may initiate a force-open request, which only executes after a second super-admin with a distinct user identityco-signs the request with their own reason for access. A single admin cannot satisfy both halves of the co-sign. Each step of the force-open path — the initial request, the awaiting-co-sign state, the co-sign, and the eventual execution — is recorded in the access log with timestamps, both admin identities, and both reasons. The contents-open following a successful force-open still requires the underlying clause (j) opt-in to exist; force-open cannot manufacture an emergency share where the reporter did not turn the opt-in on at finalize.
(m) Server-blind decryption even on admin opens, plus reporter notification and peer oversight
When a clause (k) or clause (l) contents-open executes, the wrapped emergency share is returned to the admin's browser, the admin pastes the offline super-admin private key into the browser, and the master key is reconstructed and the contents decrypted entirely in the admin's browser. HuniWhisp's servers never see the offline private key, the reconstructed master key, or the decrypted contents — only the wrapped share and the access-log entries. On every contents-open (clause (k) or clause (l)), the reporter is notified by emailat the address on file, with the date and time of the access, the admin's reason text recorded verbatim, the super-admin tier of the accessing admin (HuniWhisp does not disclose the individual staff member's username), and a link back to the reporter's own view of the report and its audit log. In parallel, the access log is exposed to all other super-admins in real time as a peer-oversight feed, so abuse of admin access is visible to the whole super-admin group as it happens. The reporter retains the right at all times to delete the report, which erases the wrapped emergency share alongside the encrypted contents and removes the only admin recovery path.
For the avoidance of doubt, clauses (j) through (m) describe a limited, opt-in, auditedrecovery path. They do not change the default server-blind posture of the Vault for reports where the reporter has not turned the opt-in on, and they do not change the proprietary-rights claim recorded in Section 28c clause (o).
28f. Biometric Authentication
Where HuniWhisp enables it, you may optionally add biometric sign-inon a supported device — fingerprint or face unlock (Touch ID, Face ID, or Windows Hello) via the WebAuthn / FIDO2 standard. It is opt-in and off by default; you continue to sign in with your email and password unless you choose to enroll a device.
Your biometrics never leave your device.Your fingerprint or face is processed only by your device’s own secure hardware; it is never transmitted to or stored by HuniWhisp. When you enroll, your device creates a cryptographic key pair and shares only the public key with us; signing in proves possession of the matching private key, which never leaves your device. We store only that public key, a usage counter (to detect cloned authenticators), and basic device metadata — never any biometric data.
These credentials are held in an isolated, encrypted, access-audited store separate from your other account data, and you can remove an enrolled device at any time from your account settings. Biometric sign-in does not replace two-factor authentication: if you have 2FA enabled, it is still required after a biometric sign-in.
Voice sign-in is an experimental capability that is not enabled. Unlike the on-device model above, a voiceprint is itself biometric data and would constitute special-category personal data under the GDPR (Art. 9) and comparable laws (e.g. Illinois BIPA); HuniWhisp will not activate any voice-based authentication without separate, explicit opt-in consent and the legally required disclosures.
29. NSFW Content Policy
Huni allows certain NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content provided it is properly tagged. All NSFW content must be tagged appropriately so that users who have opted out of NSFW content will not see it.
- NSFW content must be tagged before posting
- Failure to tag NSFW content appropriately may result in content removal and account penalties
- NSFW content involving minors is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate permanent ban and reporting to authorities
- Users can control their NSFW content visibility in their account settings
30. Limitation of Liability
Huni is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
HUNIWHISP IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, regardless of the cause of action or the theory of liability.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Platform. We are not responsible for content posted by users, decisions made based on user content, or any interactions between users. You use the Platform entirely at your own risk.
31. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Huni, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of a third party; or (d) any content you post on the Platform. This indemnification obligation survives the termination of your account and these Terms.
32. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any reason at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Upon termination or account deletion, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Account deletion removes all user-visible data including your profile, posts, comments, and wallet history. However, data may be retained as required by law for legal compliance, fraud prevention, and safety purposes. Content you have posted may remain on the Platform after account deletion if it has been shared or interacted with by others. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to Sections 5, 6, 10, 10a, 16, 17, 20, 21, 23, 25, 30, 31, 33, 35b, 36, 38, 47, 48, and 50.
33. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
Governing Law:
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Where mandatory consumer-protection laws or data-protection laws of your country of residence (e.g., GDPR for the EU/EEA, UK GDPR, CCPA for California, LGPD for Brazil) provide stronger rights than these Terms, those laws apply in addition to these Terms.
Informal Resolution First:
Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at the addresses in section 46 and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Most disputes can be resolved this way and we encourage it.
Binding Individual Arbitration:
If informal resolution fails, you and HuniWhisp agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform will be resolved through binding individual arbitration, not in court. Arbitration will be conducted under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or a comparable arbitral body, in English, by a single neutral arbitrator. The arbitrator's decision is final and enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class Action Waiver:
You and HuniWhisp agree that disputes will be resolved on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding against HuniWhisp. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding.
Exceptions to Arbitration:
- You may bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies under that court's jurisdictional limits.
- Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights.
- Where local law (such as EU consumer protection statutes) prohibits binding arbitration or class waivers for consumer disputes, those provisions do not apply to you and you may bring claims in your local courts.
Opt-Out:
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of creating your account by sending a written notice to legal@huniwhisp.com with your username, email, and a clear statement that you opt out of binding arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
34. Contact Syncing
Huni offers an optional contact sync feature on mobile devices to help you find friends who are already on the Platform and invite those who are not. By using this feature:
- Your contacts are hashed using one-way cryptographic hashing before being sent to our servers. Raw contact data (names, phone numbers, emails) is never stored on Huni servers
- Hashed contact data is used solely for matching against existing Huni accounts and is not retained after the matching process is complete
- Contact sync is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time in your account settings
- Huni will never send messages, emails, or notifications to your contacts without your explicit action
- You are responsible for having appropriate consent from your contacts before syncing
35. Invitations and Invite Codes
Huni provides an invite system that allows users to invite friends via link, email, SMS, or personal invite codes. By using this feature:
- Personal invite codes are unique to each user and do not currently expire. Huni may change code formats, or retire and reissue codes, where needed for security or program integrity
- You must not use the invite system to send unsolicited or bulk invitations (spam). Abuse of the invite system may result in invite privileges being revoked
- Huni does not guarantee delivery of invite emails or SMS messages and is not responsible for messages filtered by third-party spam systems
- Invite tracking data (who you invited and their status) is visible only to you in your dashboard
- Huni reserves the right to limit the number of invites a user can send within a given time period
35b. Referral Rewards
Huni runs a referral program that may reward you for bringing new members to the Platform. When you share a post or a link, Huni can attach your personal referral code (for example as a ?ref=CODE on the link). If a new visitor signs up after arriving through your referral, that signup may be attributed to you, and you may receive a reward once the new member completes a qualifying action. By participating you agree to the following:
- Discretionary & changeable.Referral rewards are offered at Huni's sole discretion. The current reward (for example, a short premium grant and/or loyalty points to the referrer, and sometimes to the new member) is described in-app and may change, be reduced, be paused, or end at any time, with or without notice. Participation does not create any entitlement to a reward of any particular kind or amount.
- Current reward (subject to change). As of June 2026, when a referred friend completes sign-up, the inviter receives 7 days of premium time and the new member receives 3 days of premium time, granted automatically as internal premium-time credit. Like Huni's pricing, these amounts are not final — they may change at any time, and Huni may cap how many referral rewards an account can earn within a given period or in total. Premium time granted this way has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, transferred, or exchanged, and simply expires at the end of its term — it is never converted into a charge, a balance, or a payout.
- Qualifying action. A reward unlocks only after the referred member completes a genuine qualifying action. Currently that is finishing sign-up as a real new member; Huni may change or add qualifying requirements at any time (for example, requiring a first clean (non-removed, non-spam) post). Attribution alone does not earn a reward; a signup that never completes the qualifying action, or that fails our fraud and bot screening, earns nothing.
- Time-limited attribution. Attribution is recorded in a time-limited cookie(currently roughly 30–60 days depending on how the invite arrives). The most recent deliberate invite click a visitor follows generally wins attribution; passive referral parameters do not displace an existing one. If the cookie expires, is cleared, or is blocked before signup, no attribution is recorded and no reward is owed.
- No fraud, self-referral, or abuse. Rewards are void for self-referral, referring your own additional or alternate accounts, multi-account or multiple-device farming, bot or automated signups, fake or throwaway accounts, incentivised or misrepresented invitations, cookie-stuffing, spam distribution of referral links, or any other manipulation of the program. Huni may withhold, reverse, recalculate, or revokeany reward (and any balance, points, or premium time derived from it) connected to such activity, and may suspend or terminate accounts involved.
- Not cash; no value.Referral rewards are part of Huni's internal virtual economy (see Section 10a). They are not cash, have no monetary or redeemable value, are not a payment or rebate, and are non-transferable except through features Huni expressly provides. Any premium time, points, or in-app balance granted as a referral reward is governed by Sections 10a, 36, and 37, including the limitation of liability there.
- Responsible sharing. You must not send unsolicited or bulk referral messages (spam), misrepresent Huni to win a referral, or share referral links in any way that violates Section 35 (Invitations) or Section 27 (Prohibited Content). Abuse of referral sharing may result in your referral and invite privileges being revoked.
36. Loyalty Program
The Huni Loyalty Program rewards users with points for engagement and interaction on the Platform. By participating in the Loyalty Program:
- Points are earned through activities such as posting, commenting, reacting, diary entries, hosting live sessions, and maintaining daily streaks
- Points and loyalty levels (Newcomer, Contributor, Enthusiast, Champion, Legend) are for engagement recognition only and have no monetary value
- Points cannot be exchanged for cash, credits, donations, or any form of currency — on or off the Platform
- Huni reserves the right to modify point values, level thresholds, and program structure at any time without prior notice
- Manipulation of the loyalty system (e.g., spam posting, automated activity, or coordinated farming) will result in points being revoked and potential account penalties
- Loyalty levels may unlock cosmetic or engagement-based perks but do not confer any financial benefit
36a. Huni Habits™
Huni Habits™ is a private wellbeing feature: you name a personal habit, mark it done with a one-tap daily check-in, and watch a private streak and heat-strip build over time. You can also join an anonymous solidarity lanefor others working on the same kind of habit, and send or receive a one-way “rooting for you” cheer. By using this feature:
- Private by default. Your named habits, your check-ins, and your streak / heat-strip are visible only to you. The solidarity lane exposes only aggregate counters (how many people are working on a habit of that kind, or checked in) — never any individual's identity, habit name, or notes
- UTC daily reset. A “day” for check-in and streak purposes rolls over on a shared UTC clock, so everyone's day starts and ends at the same moment regardless of timezone. A streak counts consecutive days with a check-in
- “Rooting for you” is one-way. A cheer is a single, no-reply tap of encouragement into a lane. It is not a message, cannot start a conversation, and never reveals who you are to anyone else
- Compassion on a break. If a streak breaks, the feature responds with a gentle fresh-start framing rather than a guilt-trip. Missing a day is expected and is never penalised beyond resetting the count; there is no loss-aversion pressure mechanic
- Reflective keepsakes, not professional advice. Per the Whisper Rule, Huni Habits is a reflective, motivational keepsake feature for self-encouragement only. It is not therapy, medical, psychological, or any other professional advice or treatment, and is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are struggling, please see our Safety & Community Guidelines for support resources
- For members under 18, Huni Habits follows the reduced-messaging and youth-safety posture described in Section 12a
- Proprietary mechanic. The Huni Habits™ mechanism — the named-habit one-tap check-in, the UTC-stable daily streak, the anonymous solidarity counters grouped by closed kind, the one-way no-reply cheer, and the compassion-on-break response — is proprietary to HuniWhisp and protected as part of the Platform's intellectual property (see Section 28). You may not copy, reverse-engineer, reproduce, or create derivative works of this mechanic outside the Platform without prior written permission
36b. Huni Games Room™
The Huni Games Room™ (at /games) is a suite of daily, skill-and-social play games — currently Six-Word Whisps (a true micro-story told in exactly six words), Two Truths, One Lie (the community truth-votes which statement is the lie, and the author confirms after a delay), Riddle at Dusk (a nightly riddle, blurred until you guess, with a solve-streak), and The Caption Circle(a daily image you caption with one line secretly about your own life, measured by a “this is so real” resonance meter), with more games planned. By playing:
- Free to play. Playing the games is free. There is no entry fee, no buy-in, and no requirement to spend anything to play, win, or keep playing
- Skill and social, not gambling. The games are games of skill and social participation — writing, guessing, voting, and captioning. They are not games of chance, are not wagering, betting, lotteries, or gambling, and you never stake or risk money or wallet balance on an outcome
- Wins earn badges and achievements. Solving a riddle, keeping a streak, or having your entry recognised earns badges and achievements — honorary recognition with no cash value
- Small, daily-capped coin prizes (18+). Certain wins and streaks may additionally grant a small coin prize credited to your in-app wallet as part of the virtual economy (Section 10a). These prizes are daily-capped, rate-limited, and idempotent (each game/day grants its reward at most once), are awarded only to eligible accounts, and any coin payout is restricted to members who are 18 or older. Coins are the same virtual, no-cash-value balance described in Section 10a and may, where offered, be spent on the Platform; they are never a payout of real money and confer no entitlement to one
- Anti-farm and integrity. Coin prizes exist to lightly reward genuine play, not to be farmed. Automated play, multi-accounting, collusion, or other manipulation to harvest rewards is prohibited; HuniWhisp may withhold, reverse, or claw back rewards, and may exclude accounts (including bots, banned accounts, and staff/administrator accounts) from prizes and from any leaderboard. Game leaderboards exclude such accounts by design
- Your entries are content. Anything you write, caption, guess, submit, or vote in a game is user content subject to these Terms and to the Platform's safety screening — the same automated safety checks and moderation that apply to posts apply to game submissions, names, captions, and riddle text
- Wellbeing framing. Where a game has a reflective or wellbeing flavour, it is a reflective, social keepsake for enjoyment and self-expression only — not therapy, medical, psychological, financial, or other professional advice
- The games, their availability, daily reset timing, reward sizes, daily caps, and spend options are set by HuniWhisp and may be added to, changed, reduced, suspended, or discontinued at any time as described in Sections 10a and 39
- Proprietary mechanic. The Huni Games Room™ and its individual games and their distinguishing mechanics — including the Two Truths, One Lie credibility-meter-as-lie-resolver, the Caption Circle “this is so real” meter, the blurred-until-you-guess Riddle at Dusk solve-streak, and the exactly-six-words Six-Word Whisps form — are proprietary to HuniWhisp and protected as part of the Platform's intellectual property (see Section 28 and Section 28c(w)). You may not copy, reverse-engineer, reproduce, or create derivative works of these mechanics outside the Platform without prior written permission
37. Premium Membership Tiers
Huni offers three premium membership tiers. Higher tiers include everything in the lower tiers plus more. Current pricing is shown on the Premium page and confirmed before each purchase:
- Basic — ad-free browsing, voice/audio confessions (short clips), more images per post, a higher daily post limit, and a reduced donation platform fee.
- Plus — everything in Basic, plus longer audio confessions, unlimited daily posts, and a further-reduced donation fee.
- Pro — everything in Plus, plus video uploads, the longest audio confessions, and the lowest donation fee.
Free accounts remain fully functional — the full feed, all sorting and time-range filters, posting, comments, reactions, image uploads, and the analytics on your own posts are all available without paying. Premium adds the enhancements above; it does not paywall core participation. The specific benefits and limits of each tier are set by Huni and may change (see below), and are enforced by the app; some limits are admin-tunable.
Daily, not lifetime.Wherever the Platform caps how much you can post or upload — a daily post limit, a per-post media cap, or a total upload allowance — any total allowance is measured per dayand resets automatically at the start of each new day. Upload allowances are never lifetime caps: reaching a limit today does not reduce what you can upload tomorrow, and no tier's allowance can be permanently "used up." Per-post caps (such as the number of images attached to a single post) apply to each post individually. Tier upgrades raise these allowances; an upgrade is never required to restore one.
Annual billing is available at a discounted rate (up to 40% savings). Premium memberships can be purchased and billed using your in-app wallet balance — part of the virtual economy described in Section 10a — and/or with real money through an external payment provider (currently PayPal and/or Stripe), now that payments are live (see Section 10a). Pricing is governed by an admin-tunable general configuration (base prices, tiers, and discounts) and may be adjusted for your region (purchasing-power pricing), for any one-time discount you have earned, and — by default at parity, but optionally with a per-method adjustment — for the payment method you choose. The exact amount to be charged is always computed server-side and shown for your method and region before you confirm.
Auto-renewal. Purchased subscriptions auto-renew by deducting the then-current price from your wallet at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can turn off auto-renew or cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep your benefits until the end of the period you have already paid for. Promotional, gift, and trial memberships do not auto-renew — they simply expire. If your wallet balance is insufficient at renewal, the renewal may fail and your membership may lapse to the free tier.
No partial refunds. Memberships are non-refundable, including for partial or unused billing periods, except where required by applicable law or in cases of verified billing error. Huni reserves the right to add, change, or remove premium benefits, tiers, and pricing, and to modify or discontinue the premium program, with reasonable notice to active subscribers. Premium status confers no ownership interest and carries no cash value.
38. Platform Fees Summary
The following platform fees apply to in-app transactions on Huni. These are fees within the virtual economy described in Section 10a, are retained by Huni (accruing to the HuniWhisp treasury), and are not external payment-processing charges:
- Donations: a platform fee of up to 5% on donations sent through the Platform, reduced for active premium members (currently Basic 3.5%, Plus 2.5%, Pro 1%). See Section 10
- Paid autographs: a platform fee applies to paid autograph transactions
- Paid live sessions: a platform fee applies to paid session access charges (up to $9.99 per session)
- Identity reveals: monetary exchanges during identity reveals are processed through the in-app wallet and subject to applicable fees
- Payouts: withdrawing wallet balance to a real-world account is not currently offered. If and when Huni introduces an official payout mechanism, any applicable payout fee will be disclosed before you confirm a payout, and payouts will be subject to that mechanism's eligibility, verification, and limits (see Section 10a)
All fees are deducted automatically at the time of the transaction. Fee rates are set by Huni, are subject to change at Huni's discretion (with reasonable notice for material changes), and the current rate that applies to your transaction is always displayed at the point of transaction.
39. Feature Availability
Certain features may be temporarily disabled or marked as "Coming Soon" during the platform's phased launch. Huni reserves the right to enable, disable, or modify features at any time.
40. Founders Awards & Welcome Promotions
Huni may award select users with Founders Awards (Founder, Early Adopter, Contributor) recognizing their early participation. The award itself is honorary, non-transferable, and confers no monetary value; it is shown as a visual badge. Awards may be revoked at Huni's discretion.
Welcome promotions. As a separate, promotional benefit, Huni may grant new members a complimentary, time-limited Premium membership when they create and verifytheir account — for example, a multi-month Plusgrant for a limited number of early "Founder" members where the promotion is offered, or a shorter complimentary Premium trial for other new members. These welcome promotions:
- are applied only after you verify your account (for example, by confirming your email); an unverified account does not receive them, and the benefit is held until verification
- are limited to one per person, are non-transferable, carry no cash value, and are not redeemable for cash
- are promotional and time-limited: the complimentary membership does not auto-renew and simply expires at the end of the granted period, after which the account returns to the free tier unless you choose to subscribe
- availability, amount, and eligibility vary by platform, region, and time, may be subject to a cap on the number of recipients, and may be added, changed, paused, or withdrawn at any time at Huni's discretion (consistent with Sections 9 and 37); availability and terms in the native mobile apps may differ
41. Analytics and Location Data
When you create an account, we may collect your IP address and derive approximate location data (country, state/province, city) for platform analytics and fraud prevention. We may detect the use of VPN or proxy services. This data is used for aggregate platform statistics and is accessible only to platform administrators. We do not sell or share location data with third parties.
41b. Region-Flavored Recommendations
Some discovery and recommendation surfaces may be lightly flavored by your approximate region— for example, highlighting content that is popular in your country or broad area. This flavoring uses only the coarse, region-level signal described in Section 41 (country and broad area derived from your connection). It does not use GPS, does not collect or infer a street address or any precise location, and does not track your movements. Your region is never displayed to other users and is never attached to your posts.
VPN and proxy use.Using a VPN or proxy does not restrict your access to the Platform. Where we detect one, we may show a one-time informational notice explaining that recommendations follow the region your connection appears to originate from — which may be your VPN's region rather than your physical one. The notice is informational only; no feature is blocked, limited, or degraded on the basis of VPN use.
Self-declared region. If you have added an optional region to your profile (Section 9b), we may use it to flavor these surfaces in place of the connection-derived signal — and because your preferred region is already known, the informational notice above is unnecessary and is generally not shown to you.
Region flavoring is a convenience for surfacing relevant content, not a profiling mechanism. We do not sell or share region signals with third parties, consistent with Section 41.
42. Goal Celebrations and Aspirations Anti-Spam Rules
Aspirations are public goal commitments with a timeline of progress updates. To keep the aspirations feed meaningful and protect it from drive-by spam, HuniWhisp enforces the following limits on aspiration creation and goal completion:
- Creation daily limit: You may create at most 3 new aspirations per 24-hour window. This applies per user account and is enforced server-side.
- Concurrent active goals: You may hold at most 8 aspirations in "in progress" status at the same time. Complete or abandon existing goals before starting more.
- Minimum gap between creations: At least 5 minutes must pass between creating two aspirations from the same account. This prevents burst creation.
- Minimum updates before completion: You must add at least 3 timeline updates documenting your progressbefore the "Mark as Completed" action is available. This rule is enforced on both the client and the server — any attempt to mark a goal complete with fewer than 3 updates will be rejected.
- Celebration announcements are limited to one per completed aspiration. You cannot re-celebrate the same goal by toggling its status.
- Users can disable celebration animations in their account settings (celebrations they trigger still appear for followers who have opted in).
- Celebrations are cosmetic and do not affect any platform ranking, feed prioritization, or reward mechanics.
- Abuse consequences: Repeated abuse of the aspirations feature — including evading the anti-spam limits, deleting and recreating goals to reset the counters, or celebrating goals that are clearly joke/spam content — may result in the aspirations feature being disabled for your account, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban depending on severity and history.
Showing real progress. An aspiration is meant to track a real goal over time and should show progress through progress updates. An aspiration with no progress within 14 daysis automatically reclassified as a regular post, so the Aspirations & Goals space stays focused on goals people are genuinely working toward.
43. Sharing and External Platforms
HuniWhisp provides share tools so you can distribute public posts and stories to external services — social networks (X / Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn), messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, email), your device's native share sheet, QR codes, and embeddable iframes. By using these share tools you agree that:
- Once content is shared to an external platform, it is subject to that platform's terms, privacy policies, and content moderation. HuniWhisp has no control over how external services cache, index, archive, or display shared links.
- Shared posts carry only your chosen username (your pseudonym) on external destinations — no email, IP, real name, or other account identifiers are attached to outbound share links, previews, or embed code.
- You are responsible for what you choose to share and to whom. Only public posts should be shared externally; do not attempt to share private messages, drafts, or deleted content.
- Embed codes render the post as a live iframe that updates if the original post is edited, archived, or removed. Embedded posts that are subsequently deleted or made private will stop rendering and may display a "post no longer available" notice.
- Native device sharing on the mobile apps uses your operating system's share sheet. Any apps listed there (Messages, Mail, Notes, contact apps, installed social apps) are third-party services and are outside the scope of these Terms.
- Share counts are tracked in aggregate for analytics purposes only and do not identify which external platform you used or any personal information about the recipient.
- Visibility-aware sharing (Huni Visibility-Aware Share™).Every share surface is gated to respect the item's privacy state: deleted, moderated, hidden, flagged, unverified, and group / private-space posts cannot generate a public preview card or QR code, and anonymous posts never carry your identity off-platform (see Section 28c(z)).
- Anonymous profile sharing (Huni Profile Share™).You may share your anonymous profile (/u/anon/<handle>) by link or QR. The preview card and page expose only your public handle and aggregate counts — never your username, email, real name, IP, or exact join date (see Section 28c(aa)).
- HuniWhisp reserves the right to disable the share button for specific posts, categories, or accounts if the share feature is being abused (for example, to evade bans, mass-broadcast spam, or redirect users to off-platform scams).
44. Accessibility and Colorblind-Friendly Themes
HuniWhisp is committed to being usable by readers with color vision deficiencies (CVD) and low vision. In addition to our standard themes, the platform ships three dedicated accessibility themes that can be selected from the theme picker in the navbar or from your profile settings:
- Clear Horizon (CB) — Safe for red-green colorblindness (deuteranopia and protanopia, affecting ~6% of men and ~0.4% of women). Uses a blue + orange accent palette, which is considered the universally accessible color pair across every common form of CVD.
- Rose Atlas (CB) — Safe for blue-yellow colorblindness (tritanopia). Uses a rose/magenta + teal accent palette that avoids blue/yellow distinctions entirely.
- High Contrast (CB) — Maximum contrast mode for users with low vision or any form of CVD. Pure-black (dark mode) or pure-white (light mode) background, WCAG AAA text contrast ratios (≥7:1), thicker borders, enlarged focus outlines, and a vivid yellow accent in dark mode / deep blue accent in light mode.
These themes override danger/success/warning semantic colors as well, so error messages and confirmations never rely on red/green distinctions alone. All themes respect the user's dark-mode / light-mode preference independently — you can use High Contrast in light mode for a pure-white WCAG AAA interface, or in dark mode for a pure-black one. Theme selection is stored per device in local storage and does not leave your browser.
We welcome feedback on accessibility. If any part of the Platform is difficult to use with a screen reader, assistive technology, or specific visual condition, please contact us via the methods listed in the Contact section below. Accessibility reports are triaged with the same priority as bug reports.
44b. Mobile App Distribution & In-App Behavior
The HuniWhisp mobile app is a Capacitor wrapper around the same web application served at huniwhisp.com, distributed through the app stores. Because the WebView loads from the live website on every launch, web-side fixes apply in the app without a store update; only changes that touch the native shell (permissions, plugins, manifest) require a new app version.
In-app navigation behavior:
- An in-header back chevron appears on every page except the home shell (
/,/home,/explore,/about,/auth). Tapping it returns you to the previous screen, falling back to/homewhen opened via a deep link with no in-app history. - Your device's system back button (where present) navigates back through your in-app history. Once you are on a home-shell page, the first press surfaces a "Press back again to exit" toast; a second press within 2 seconds closes the app. This is to prevent accidental exits from a single tap.
- The app honors your device's auto-rotate setting and supports portrait, landscape, and reverse-landscape orientations.
- The device's system navigation bar (back / home / recents), where present, is hidden inside the app to give the app's own bottom navigation the full bottom edge of the device. Swiping up from the very bottom briefly reveals the system bar (escape hatch).
Device permissions the app may request:
- Network access — required to load
huniwhisp.com - Notifications — only used after you grant the runtime prompt for new-message and reaction notifications
- Contacts — only requested if you explicitly enable Contact Sync (see Privacy Policy §3); for one-off invites we use the system Contact Picker which does not require this permission
- Haptics (vibration) — for the haptic-tap micro-interaction on buttons (no-op if your device's haptics are disabled)
- Restart re-registration — to re-register push notification listeners after a device restart
- Keep screen awake — to keep the screen alive while you compose a long post or watch a Live Huni
We do not request location, camera (other than via the system file picker when you upload media), microphone, calendar, SMS, call-log, or biometric permissions. The app does not run any background service or foreground service.
Updates to the app are distributed through the app stores on the same release cadence as the website. We may issue staged rollouts (e.g., 10% → 50% → 100%) to monitor for crashes before promoting to all users. Any crash data collected by a distribution platform is governed by that platform's privacy policy.
45. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through Platform notifications. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you must stop using the Platform.
46. DMCA Takedown Procedure
HuniWhisp respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) of 1998. If you believe content posted on the Platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to our designated DMCA agent.
What to include in a DMCA notice:

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice including: your contact information, identification of the removed content, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed in error, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the address you provided (or, if outside the US, the District of Delaware), and your physical or electronic signature. We will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat copyright infringers. We also reserve the right to remove any content alleged to be infringing without prior notice and at our sole discretion.
Warning:Knowingly submitting a false DMCA notice is a federal offense and may subject you to liability for damages, including costs and attorney's fees. Please consult an attorney before filing if you are unsure whether the use is infringing.
47. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal, and enforceable while preserving its original intent — or, if modification is not possible, it shall be severed from these Terms entirely.
48. Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by HuniWhisp. A waiver of any term or condition on one occasion shall not be construed as a waiver of any subsequent breach or failure of the same term or condition, or a waiver of any other term or condition of these Terms.
49. Force Majeure
HuniWhisp shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms where such delay or failure results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, acts of war or terrorism, pandemics, government actions, power outages, internet or telecommunications failures, cyberattacks, or other events of force majeure. During such events, our obligations are suspended for the duration of the force majeure event, and we will make reasonable efforts to resume normal operations as soon as practicable.
50. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, Child Safety Standards, and any other policies or guidelines referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and HuniWhisp regarding your use of the Platform. These Terms supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings, whether oral or written, relating to the subject matter hereof. No representation, promise, or agreement not expressly contained in these Terms shall be binding on either party.

27c. Posthumous & Legal Access
This Section governs requests by family members, executors, legal guardians, and authorities to access, close, or compel production of a HuniWhisp account or its content. It supplements the pseudonymity carve-outs in Section 7 and the privacy disclosures in our Privacy Policy. All requests are submitted through the intake form at /legal-requests and may also be addressed to the legal team at privacy@huniwhisp.com.
(a) Posthumous access & closure
HuniWhisp honours valid posthumous-access requests upon receipt of proof of death (a government-issued death certificate) together with proof of authorityover the deceased member's affairs — a kinship document for next-of-kin, letters testamentary or an equivalent executor deed for the appointed executor, or a court order vesting authority. Posthumous closure is treated as a soft-delete: the account is removed from public view and an encrypted archive is retained in accordance with the retention periods set out in the Privacy Policy.
(b) Court orders, subpoenas, search warrants, and guardianship orders
HuniWhisp honours court orders, subpoenas, search warrants, and guardianship or conservatorship orders upon presentation of proof of authenticity — including a government-issued photo ID for the submitting requester and, for law-enforcement requests, official credentials and agency letterhead. Service of process must follow the format and channels described on the /legal-requests intake page. Consistent with Section 7, HuniWhisp complies with valid orders but does not volunteer user information absent legal compulsion or an imminent-harm exception.
(c) Declaration under penalty of perjury
Every submission must include a declaration, signed under penalty of perjury, that the information provided and the documents uploaded are true, accurate, and complete, and that the requester is the person or authorised representative they claim to be. The declaration is presented and recorded as part of the intake form.
(d) Forged or fraudulent submissions
Submitting a forged, altered, or otherwise fraudulent document — including a fake death certificate, fabricated court order, impersonated executor deed, or counterfeit law-enforcement credential — is a serious crime in virtually every jurisdiction. HuniWhisp will refuse such requests, preserve the submission and its metadata, terminate any associated accounts, and cooperate with prosecutions, including by responding to compulsory process and providing testimony or evidence where lawfully required.
(e) Encrypted records for regulatory review
HuniWhisp maintains an encrypted record of every legal-access request— including the requester's name, email, phone number, and uploaded documents — for regulatory review, audit, and legal-compliance purposes. Document bytes are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and the requester's personally identifying information (name, email, phone) is encrypted equivalently. Each submitter is issued a 256-bit hexadecimal status tokenon submission to track the request's progress without exposing personal data.
(f) Required documents, response times, and how to submit
The intake form at /legal-requests lists the documents required for each request type — including, for example, government photo ID and a death certificate plus proof of kinship for deceased-access requests; government photo ID plus a guardianship court order for guardianship requests; and government photo ID plus law-enforcement credentials and agency letterhead for investigation requests. Uploads are limited to 8 MB per document and 25 MB per submission, in PDF, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, or HEIC format. Target response times are 14 days for routine requests, 30 days for complex requests, and 7 days for verified emergency law-enforcement requests involving an imminent risk to life or safety. The legal team can be reached directly at privacy@huniwhisp.com.
By using Huni, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
